For what ever reason today at around 12pm est. my server started acting really funny, and come to find out the hardrive is constantly being accessed at 24mb/s, but the odd thing is that the cpu usage is real low never above 5% and the memory usage is only 40-50mb out of 512mb available. if i start killing processes, i have to kill them all before that will stop, but it doesnt matter what the last process is that i kill. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this becuase i am out of things to try.

there are 2 possable reasons for that 1. becuase they figure that is close enough, no one will ever see the difference between that and 3584kbps. bellsouth does the same thing they cap there 1.5mb service at 1.4mb. 2. you are too far from the dslam that you cant reach max synk.

good info phyoptik, and welcome to the forum. the short answer to this is they never overcap, untill now. bellsouth caps there 3mb plan a 3552kbps, and there 6mb plan 8192kbps. But they still dont over cap there upload for some reason.

cf1709 welcome to the forum. you have a loose power connection somewere in the case. i had the same problem with my video card and it was a loose connector, it did the exact same thing you say. you need to check them all, it probally wont feel very loose but it is because the pins on the inside are worn down, or the pins in the molex connector are separated. you just need to check them all, swap them all around.

that really sucks basic.

everything looks pertty good from your modem, i would try and get it away from that splitter if you can.

why dont you make your own nas. using opennas. its so much better then anyone you will buy.
