    the pluses are a insane amount of speed as much as 50mbps/5mbps. PPPoE isnt bad anymore because all routers add it into them so you don't have to login like you use to.

    i know a few people that have it and they average between 400-800kbps and max about 1mbps. as far as ping times go they suck.

    the windows fire is no good, becuase just like roco said it only scans incoming. You will have to wait till vista for one that scans outgoing. There are many better free software firewall out there.

    there is nothing wrong with your cache its keeping the testfile in there so insted of download form the tmn server is downloading form your harddrive all you have to do is clear it. if your using internet exploer go under tools, then internet options then click delete tempaory internet files. in firefox there is cache tab in the options. you may also want to try a mirror server.

    welcome to the forum Haus. they load fine for me, it might have just been a DNS issue with comcast. if it still does it, give comcast a call.
