  4. RAW DEAL! Worst computer deal in the history of scams. They are selling a $300 desktop computer for $2200. They are scamming the public by making it look like an easy payment plan. If the overall price wasn't bad enough, they don't even take on any risk, as they won't ship the computer until you've spent more than $600! Help expose this scam! http://www.bluehippo.com/orderNow2.asp
  5. it will take about a week or so. but once they fully adjust you will be able to look at that thing for hours, and hours.
  6. thats true because the turning on and off of the monitor kills the backlight in a LCD's cases.
  7. there really is no way to stop pixels from going out. its just something that does happen. But there is good news, most of the time a pixel can be restarted, by turning the monitor on and off a few times. Ive never had to do that becasuse, all my LCD's have been perfect. but a friend of mine had 1 go out and he was able to get it to start turning again. as far a maintenence goes, don't touch it, but if you do and you want to clean it, 3M makes some pads that are designed for cleaning LCD's. there really isn't much to worry about, the only thing that will kill a LCD is if the backlight goes out, and that wount happen for a long long time. I have a 17in here on my server, and its 7 years old and still working like new.
  8. i was able to open about 10 tabs and then a medium size .pdf and that would crash it, now it stays alive during that. memory usage is quite a bit better on my end, im using only 35mb with 8 tabs, before that would be about 55-60mb depending on the site.
  9. just updated, and a little difference in memory usage, and its a little more stable.
  10. i think that in 6 months there will be no geek squad. and i hope so, because they really suck.

  13. it does not mean how fast your internet will be, it means how fast, the wireless transmission rate is, eather 54mbps or 108mbps. they are both fine for sharing internet, and computer data, the 108 will be a little faster if your sharing large files from 1 computer to another computer within the network. you will be able to to play anygame offline with in the wireless network when it sayd 125g, thats means it can go at a maximum of 125mbps.
  14. has anyone played with it, just found out about it today, and its really nice, i can take all my stuff from outlook and iCal on all my pcs and have them on one calendar, its really nice. http://www.google.com/calendar/render
  15. maximo151 welcome to the forum. if i remember corretly, aol does major caching of everything to make downloads faster, so that may actually not be your real download speed. does anyone else know if that is in fact what they do.
  16. wyantm06 since those would be rather large files i don't think you would be able to recover the whole file. you would have to shell out some $$$$$$$$$ to get them back. EDIT: you much just want to download them again.
  17. not bad thanks for the link Indestructable
  18. i don't use it, so i can't help you, but im shure someone here can.
  19. you don't have to get shielded cable but it does not hurt to get it. i use all unsheiled cable at my office and we have had not 1 problem the place swimmer gave you is good, but you can do better. 130 for some cat6 cable is alot. a few weeks ago, i got 1500 feet of cat6 cable from home depot for $45 and then i just bought the ends and put them on my self. might be the way to go. good luck on this.
  20. who is your isp? some do block port 80
  21. i got my money back, im going to wait, because i noticed a few problems in it, that i knew were not going to get fixed till probally OS 10.5
  22. to be honest, i buy the cheapest dvds that i can get, about a week ang i got 100 dvds bestbuy, for 19.99. and they were dynex dvds. and ive never had a problem with any ofthem, never gotten a bad one at all. there really is no difference in anyones dvds. they are all made the same way. so weather your spending $70 or $20 there is no difference. they are all made in taiwan, probally by the same company.
  23. welcome to the forums Jammy2, nice speeds, what are your advertised speeds?
  24. you have a very good shared server there, you were luckey to get that one. most shared servers don't get very good speed results.
