yeah its a HUB and since you are not sending or receiving data from some one hoked up to your hub data is spread all over ur network until its recognized by your PC i think the problem is because its a HUB

i have used VOIP as in with skype and voipbuster skype takes a solid 5kb up and down and voipbuster to a normal land line tested call from UK to Portugal and Uk to USA and it always takes 10kb/s up and down weather u talking or not i have not seen any thing above 10kb/s

doesn't sound like a bad idea one day during the week and one day during the weekend i bet with will be some wierd times for me in the uk if you guys do it at night in the US but thats cool i think i would be able to attend at least once

those were the last 2 parts of your ip address i did a tracert to your ip and it did not come with any dns we can't do anything in our side maybe you should disconnect and connect again to your isp to see if u get a new ip

are you both connected directly to a modem or any of you behind a router? if you are connected directly you should have remote desktop activated in the machine u want to connect and in the other one you just type the ip adress and it should ask you for a password and login if u have set up one if any of you is behind a router it becomes more complicated

dont really understand your problem can you expand a bit more what are you trying to do to connect to you company via a VPN ??? to use remote desktop to some one across the internet ??

i think it starts downloading while you are in the window to accept the download and save that path so when it actually shows it is downloading it has alreayd been downloading and that is why u see all those high score. i have a bandwidth metter that shows my bandwidth and i am sure this is what happens
