  1. Your cell phone is not a conventional modem, change it back to default.
  2. Don't ever use modified drivers, they offer no speed improvement I've ever seen and when you have a graphical error the only way you can get rid of it is to use DriverCleaner3 and take all nvidia crap out than use the official version. Just use coolbits 2 that is just a registry key that unlocks overclocking and stuff.
  3. I use a Celeron D, it was a MAJOR jump from my old Celeron A.
  4. Have you ever overclocked? Is there a burning smell? These are the signs of a bad CPU. Don't immediatly disregard the RAM, it can be anything. I know this happened to me after installing a new network card that was conflicting with my built in LAN.
  5. Yeah, I use mp4, and I'm pretty sure it's required to be able to see video on a PSP, the mp3 and mpg are the same thing just like the mp4 mpeg4.
  6. Best home computer is approx $5000 This is minimum for the max performance. AMD X-2 4400 4 gigs DDR2 PC8000 1000MHz Geforce 7800 GTX OC (SLI'd) 146.8 SCSI 15K RPM 8MB Buffer 3.2 read time And of course some random 19" monitor, 600W powersupply with water cooling. etc.
  7. Sorry, it's shared. All home connections are, and FIOS for that speed down here is $50, and the $100 is for 30 MB/s down and 5MB/s up, what do you have?
  8. Did that for the second time, it seems this is an issue that just you guys haven't really noticed yet I have. Any of my friends that uses Coolbits has this same thing, but it's still 8X so there's nothing to worry about, thanks.
  9. I got VIA, I heard something like this before so I'll try a registry tweak right now, see if that works. k, I'm going to check it in Everest Ultimate now, I found a Via4xMode reg tweak, but it didn't fix it from displaying 2x, and I found in graphics card info tab it said 8x. Everything says it's fine except for that one thing, so it must be fine.
  10. Hey, got a new graphics card. Original - GeforceFX 5200 256MB PCI New - Geforce 6600 256MB AGP 8x My problem is this, so it's 8x right? My OS seems to detect it as 2x, the same as PCI, is this right? Screenshot:
  11. MSN was slow a few days ago for me at home and at school. heh
  12. The other difference is quality, GeforceFX has better better shading and lighting. But of course the Geforce6 has everything and is almost the same as the 7 series. (wtf is the difference anyways?)
  13. No, 768KB/s is for $15, and your 1.5M/s is for $30. Your "gp" is mistaken. However you can get your 1.5M/s upgraded to 3.0MB/s if you call up.
  14. Well technically I could care less for the onboard ram for what I play. Not to mention my own Geforce4 is a 128MB and the geforce 5200 I had was 256. lol believe it or not, 128 pwns 256 in clock speed, pretty much why I bought it.
  15. Hey, anyone know a decent link for determining the amount of watts your computer will need? I have one guide from a crap magazine but it's far outdated.
  16. Does it in Internet Explorer and Firefox, I hope my account just isn't f*ck*d up.
  17. Yeah, BFG is the best manufactor and then XFX takes second. Geforce6 series is the way to go if you get the chance, on tigerdirect there's a bunch of 6 series that are actually just on par in price with the 5 series. 6 makes major improvements compared to the 5. But yeah, in this specific question, the 5 wins all the way. I know. I used to have a GeforceFX 5200 PCI, quality was excellent, bump mapping, good lighting. So now I'm on a GeforceMX 4000 AGP and there's no bump mapping, the lighting is screwed up, etc. Although I will admit because it's AGP it's way f*cking faster.
  18. You gotta check to make sure the ram is in place, that mouse thing has nothing to do with it. Also, when you reset the cmos, make sure you unplug the outside "AND THE INSIDE" cables as well to make sure no power goes to the board, and wait on 2-3 JBATs for up to 3-6 seconds than return it.
  19. Nope, didn't work. As I said, this effects more than just my computer.
  20. They both have the same core speeds, I ruled that out. And it's not just these two btw. The 512MB 6600 I found had a wicked core speed compared to the others.
  21. At Tigerdirect I was looking for graphics cards when I noticed this. Most of the 128MB graphics cards are more expensive than the 256MB ones. WTF IS GOING ON? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1522065&Tab=0&NoMapp=0 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1496792&Tab=0&NoMapp=0 The 256MB is all around the better choice, what's the problem here? And I also found a 512MB Geforce that was cheaper than a 128 or 256.... wtf?
