  1. Do you think a Mini-ATX ps will run on an ATX board?
  2. lol, I'm just going to take the Power supply from my new computer (ATX but supports MATX) and put it in my old one (MATX) and see if it runs it, if it does than I won't have to worry about frying my stuff.
  3. I'm telling you, this is what it looks like you want me to do. Take a paperclip and one of the internal power cords and stick it in there to see if it turns on, but that would fry my power box. lol I'll just go see if it turns on my old motherboard since I'm sure that it'll work that way.
  4. Are you asking me to fry my power supply so that I can test if it's fried or not? o.O edit no MATX power doesn't work with atx boards.
  5. I just recently bought... Motherboard : PT88AS (MachSpeed) CPU : Celeron D 2.93GHz RAM : Viking DDR PC3200 256MBs (2 sticks) And a new case that supports the ATX formfactor and everything. After I got done putting everything and going to press the power butotn, it wouldn't turn on! Not even the system fan went, it was almost like it was fried, but I know I took the necessary precautions before I installed it... I grounded myself, Made sure the RAM was locked in place thoroughly, made sure the CPU was seated right... The power cord is in. (Not sure if I need the 12V with a Celeron D though.) On button is pressed of course, and the LED wires SHOULD be in. The only thing I can think of is the Power BTN or Power SW cord is not in the right holes, but I tried every combination. I read the manual, and it looks like it's seated properlly. The only thing weird is the Reset SW from the case is missing a pin that the motherboard calls for, and so does the power SW. wtf is going on here? D:
  6. lol, they're putting down lines in my area as we speak, right next to my box.
  7. If you get a hold of a boot disk, just use fdisk. PartionMagic hasn't been in use for a while...
  8. Check out TuneUp 2006, it's got everything on it, including everything raptor said, all in one package. Use Diskeeper for defragging, it's the apsolute best. Use Firefox or Opera as a web browser, and if you use Firefox make sure to find FireTune. See if your computer is compatible with Intel Application Accelerator, usually it isn't but this will give you a major increase on an intel based computer with out overclocking, pretty much allowed me to sweep the floor with alot of AMD's stuff, even though I still plan to upgrade to AMD. See if you can find a few registry tweaks, such as UnloadDLL etc. You can find any of these by simly searching the key words, such as diskeeper, etc on google. enjoy
  9. He said he replaced it alot. No error message? Just goes to boot and dies?
  10. uh, www.opera.com is down right now, wtf. lol I want to try it. But it won't let me in. 8.5 is the current version for opera, right?
  11. A 54G will help, it'll give you 54MB to deal with instead of wireless-B's 11MB, but that'll only fix another problem when you get this one stamped out. Or, because you have gone over the limit in speed that they router can handle, maybe it's going unstable? See if you can update your firmware.

    Help?

Please retest with a larger test file.
  13. Got any firewalls? If you have zonealarm, I can see this happening. Also, when did you upgrade your connection? Like 2 to 3 days after you update they usually screw up and this happens. 786 is their lowest package and with overhead, it looks like you have it. Believe me, I called them when I upgraded to 3.0MB and they verified it to be right, but testmy said that I had a 768 connection as well, it took a while but they fixed it. They are always on edge with Database problems. I really think it's all Verizon's doing.
  14. Oh so that's why IE 7 is immitating FF?
  15. www.driver.com It used to be free, my PC Support teacher uses it. I just use driver-guide.
  16. That's the default drivers loaded, can you show us a screenshot of all your display adapters? You might want to delete all your drivers for nvidia before you install a new version. This might help removing old nvidia drivers. http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=582
  17. Wireless G is still good for this situation. btw, please retest with a bigger test size.
  18. FIOS requires you use a Wireless-G network. Wow, you guys overlooked that one good. 11MB for B and 54MB for G, he needs to go faster with his router and network adapter.
  19. Yeah, too many sites I've tried to count, including that one.
  20. uh, update... I'm using windows 98SE again because XP can't work with the sound driver. The problem is this, I'm missing a PnP driver that automatically sets up the sound driver in the right way, because that one driver file has four drivers in one. Right now, I ask if anyone still has a reinstall disk for a 600X 2645-4EU, thank you. (hopeful)
  21. You ever considered autoupdate was going through? Those are not the symtoms of the zotob worm, that is MUCH more fatal ie, restarting and shuting down the computer alot and only effects windows 2000 computers.
  22. You can't remove sp2 if it came with the os. And you're sooo right, sp2 is for the link clickers, I had to fix my cousin's computer and alls I did was install sp2 and it all was fixed, go figure. btw, ignorance is the majority of our people, so you know why sp2 is there.
