Proxy: In IE go to tools -> internet options -> connections tab -> LAN settings -> check both of the lower boxes and then go to Advanced -> type "192.168.0.1" without quotes in the top HTTP box, and put "87" without quotes as the port beside it -> then at the bottom under the exceptions, type "DirecWaysupport.com;192.168.0.*" without the quotes. Then hit ok or apply, and exit and re-open. The LCCU was the thing from Dway, it had nothing to do with MS Dos.

No problem. Make sure you always use the 2992kb test for download and 579kb test for upload, they seem to get the most accurate results

Have you tried tweaking Firefox? Open your browser and enter

I don't see any uploaded pics.

Satellite locations, transponders & frequencies in use What satellite and transponder are you on? To find out, type "192.168.0.1" in your browser without the quotes. Navigate the 'system info' which is found at the top right. In the top right table under where it says satellite, look for your longitude and receive frequency, that's your satellite and transponder, post it here.

Welcome to the forum speedpeanut2! It looks as though you're getting 6000 speeds, are you on the 6000 or 7000?
-
I wouldn't recommend it, but it's your computer. Do what you want.
-
It shouldn't be a setting since tweaks don't do much for the 6000 and it couldn't be a virus or spyware since they would only make your speed slower.

Take more

Open IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> under the Temp. Internet Files option, click on settings -> Change the number to 1 -> ok -> apply. Close IE Clear cache using Ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com) Take a few consecutive tests. Your speeds probably won't be different, if they were being cached, you would be seeing really high speeds.
-
How much space does your computer use for cache? Set it to 0 and test again.

I had basically the same setup when I had my 6000, I even have almost the same Dell computer wired! The reason why you see no difference in speed on the computers is because tweaks don't do anything with the 6000! Unless your computer's settings are way off. Since the software had to be on your computer with the 4000 modem, it was highly tweakable, but since the 6000 is self-hosted, tweaks barely do anything.

Okay, time for tweaking. Download this and install it. Download these tweaks, open it and click on the satellite folder -> MTU 1500 -> Consumer click on that, and then click 'save to registry' in Cablenut. Reboot, and retest.

When they made the site changes, I was constantly getting them, and before that on my wired computer, I would always get higher than I should have been getting. They've been making changes to the tests some, I think; so they may not have finished those yet. Maybe they did remove them, I don't know.

I started out with Direcway on a 98 system... It was really slow for me as well. In IE, go to tools -> internet options -> connections -> lan settings -> make sure both checkboxes are checked at the bottom -> advanced -> make sure 192.168.0.1 is in the HTTP box, and 87 in the port box to the right of it -> and in the exceptions box copy and paste this without the quotes "DirecWaysupport.com;192.168.0.*" Obviously, only do this if it's not already done (it might be, I think I needed that to be able to get on the internet)
