    hello..

Welcome to testmy.net I have a question, what does the text mean that's in your sig, and under your picture ?
  3. Depends on what proxy you want to use, unless you have a great connection , then all it's gonna do is slow the connection down significantly. I would use proxify works really well. Instead of doing it the way you are, which I'm thinking that is to use your phone as a proxy server for the computer, just save the url above as your home page, then type in the url in the proxy field. And off you go
  4. I always keep in mind that if we never fail, then we never gain. That goes with anything, so read up, and do what you think is right, then note everything you did. It's been a while since I've done it, but somewhere on here I wrote a guide, something that worked for the application I was dealing with.
  5. Install whatever windows OS , then use Linux to make space on the XP partition and then use the GRUB bootloader to dualboot XP, then install whatever else yo want, once yo get into triple booting, it can get a bit silly, but it's done every day. If your gonna get into Lilo, then you'de better do your homework, it can test your knowledge. Just write down EVERYTHING, the location on the drive of every entry, and you'll be ok, I think you've done close to this before , havent you ?
  6. I play sometimes like that, but for every day access, not me, I'm still hooked on my gui
  7. gnome w/o a doubt, although kde has come a long way. I suggest that you do it straight outta the box strictly text only Then, you know how to use an OS
  8. I can't seem to find anything on this error code, anywhere. I'm sure someone will stop by and see this, hang in there.
  9. hell your not slackin in the BW field man, you do pretty good

  13. Mine too, I wont waste my time with the test, although I'm running vista ultimate on a another machine, that I put together myself, core 2 duo 4 gigs ram blah blah , that ran XP like an F-15, that in turn , runs vista, like one of those 3 cylinder tin can cars from the 80's going up though the rocky mountians it's slow as hell, it hasn't ever crashed, but it just stinks to try and do anything on. Even the internet creeps along. There's at least a 3-5 second delay as you watch that pretty little progress bar at the bottom load Never again.
  14. Doesn't sound like he's getting an error. Clear your cache. The "optimization " may have adjusted timeout setting out of range. Move it back to default and you should be fine. Sometimes those fantastic registry changes made, aren't so great for every application, especially one like the test here, where it depends solely on YOUR specific throughput in waged against time and specialized compressed packets. BTW, what speed in bandwidth are you paying for?
  15. Works for me.
  16. I jeep finding this , though it isn't free, there is a trial period in which you could find the funds while evaluating it. Or I found this on MS website. ~ Source Might want to check this out as well. Whatever you decide toy use, please post it for the rest of us to gain from
  17. Well there's more to it then just a switch and a comment , You mad made remark that if there were any programs running, you would want them to shut down, the machine will ask that, as well as to save any open documents. This wont work if the user has password protection / screen saver set , but it should work on XP if it is formatted ntfs, just save it in a text editor, as .vbs. You might not make it too the moon though

  19. Either way, we'll sqweeeze ya in might take a little crisco er somethin though
  20. I cannot find the manual, I really would like to see how the antenna works.
  21. Oh I see, have you messed with the adjustable antenna on the router ? Just curious. Sounds interesting.
  22. Is this the one ? It says something about the "patented" antenna steering mechanism, very cool.
  23. Wow, either was I aware of that. I have settings on mine that can raise the transmit power, and have one antenna transmit and the other receive, but aiming ? , interesting. I'll have to glance at your router.
  24. Alright , post your motherboard model please, I'll look at it. Most have it. I'm sure some don't.
