Google to enter operating system wars with Chrome OS

Good, we need this, but I'm thinking it will be more personally intrusive then we want, knowing what googles intentions are. -
Yea, but that still doesn't give me the location of the mail servers. It'sa biatch doin this via remote when you have the answers in front of you, and they don't work ! :haha:

help..downgrade laptop vista to xp
mudmanc4 replied to liesfortheliars's topic in General Discussion
Yea, this is me saying this, windows 7 is well right now in the "let it out in the wild time" ....damn, I can't believe I'm sayin this, ....just as smooth as OSX oh shit , what did I just say ? But not without it's falws, hang up's , and crashs, which if I were to bet on it, MS will NOT release ths product until it is good and damn ready to be pushed to the massive max for any situation from heavy corporate use, to grandma. I say this because look at the history of companies that do not stand up to there customers expectations. Man , can you hear the headlines ? " MS second flop of a OS " is it the end for MS in the personal computing era ? " Because Apple would certainly take a much larger bit from the market as they did on the trail of vista. There's no reason why that machine will not accept XP. If it's x86 architecture, it will run XP. Save your data, wipe the drive, and install a fresh copy of XP. Simple as that, stop putting yourself through this entanglement of marketing BS. -

They gave me 2Gb of ram , when I ordered none, and I ordered the 2.8 Xeon server. There's tons more "stuff" in this 62 pound hog then I ordered But no scsi drives, hence, the live cd today. Hell, either way I'm good , I haven't even configured the network yet btw, I have a 15/7 connection -
This brings an interesting point we were discussing earlier. Looking at this post , and most all the rest, listening to the "news" and the side talk about the news, as well as people's opinions, and feelings about it, would you say that what we absorb throughout out lifetimes makes us who we are ? Think about that for a minute, at a young age we begin to form our opinion of the world by who we surround ourselves with, and we do this due to what we were taught, and or what we see and hear is what we want. They say, that by the age of 15-21 , we are who were going to be, and our opinions of the world in general are pretty much set in stone. So lies and programming from birth define us ? !

Perfect story of who were dealing with as a rule, not the standard, and not always, when we need someone from the ISP to "check things out ". -
Well I figured it was time to bring this thing up again. Here's mine .......

I know there's someone here that deals with printers, can't remember who it is, but I'm sure they will see this before too long.

Well get used to it. No one want to believe it, and they dont care, the ones that do, will be shot dead in the streets. By the very people that are defending this country right now. Watch.

What do you recommend for this setup?
mudmanc4 replied to altoidz's topic in Networking and Hardware
The "standard" is 100 meters , or close to 300 feet before you get timeouts and such, are you running more then that ? I'm thinking no. I have successfully run well over 150 foot myself several times, with no problems at all. I live in a ranch house, where I ran over a 100 foot run to get the wifes machine in the front , no problems. Just make sure you look for quality cable, I always go overboard, but I use plenum cat 6 for all my runs. Well there's another example -
help simple problem sorry for disturbing you guys!....

I'm sure someone will come along and post what you need, but until then, why don't you use cablenut . -

mudmanc4 replied to altoidz's topic in Networking and Hardware
Well call it what you want, but personally I see wireless as a last resort to getting a connection. If you can get a wire run (and where there's a will there's a way ) then run the wire. If your into gaming like you said, run the wire in the wall, do it right though, put jacks in the wall labeled, and don't just run one, run two, you'll use them. When I bought this house, there wasn't even cable in the walls, now, everywhere needed, there's cable, and cat6 w/ proper jacks for a good connection. Sure, I still have the wireless solution, but for runs to the other end of the house, there's copper. -
I'll take a stab at this in saying that as a rule, at least in the states , the ISP doesn't install the DSL line. ight want to look into this sooner then later.
