2. I need a GOOD guide to the BC43XX firmware on my G4, not a guess, or " I think " , but some real stuff here, I know there's real issues w/ the firmware being released, I also know many people have had success. If you have , please relay to me the exact procedure you used, weather it be the "cutter " or ndsiwrapper.

7. I just got off the phone w/ tier 3, I have a tech coming out fri. , I keep telling them the damn drop is bad, I have moles like mad, and I'm sure they have at least chewed my line. He did several ping tests, and the tests varied from 16 Ms- 300 Ms, and all between. I also know there may be , ( still ) a laser misfire at the head end) Although I have been going through this for four years, and had cards in the node replaced several times, the drop from the local port replaced three times, and a dozen or so visits , I have hugh hopes this time. One note for former adelphia customers, or those in an area that was previously owned by them, they didn't take care of there hardware, so some of that stuff leaves a bit to be desired. BIG problem that wont likely be solved soon. Call constantly, tell them what is going on, be professional, don't cuss or yell, don't threaten them, just be persistent. It's all you can do.
8. Welcome to testmy.net Remyngton. Try clearing your cache, not saying thats what it is, but it I have tested several times since your post, and it's ok for me. Try it, and please post back.

11. What I mean is, there are dozens of distributions out there, each a different flavor of linux. If you compiled your own Kernel, or LKM, was it the stable version "2.6.25.3 " or the unstable version "2.6.26-rc2". Nice to see someone good at writing code in "C"

16. Have you installed the software that came w/ the cam? The extreme graphics is the integrated graphics memory, If you need to , maybe goto windows update and it should shoe it there.
17. Feels good doesn't it ! What distro were you trying?
18. You don't look foolish , or anything else other than I think your going to be learning quite a bit more very soon ! There's no such thing as a "noob " because the way technology goes, you could say damn near almost anything, and you might raise eyebrows in the possibility. dlewis is the man, retain what he says , I don't ever remember this guy giving anything other than the best and exact advice. 23. I take it you have a modem, then a router, two computers are hooked to it. What type of router is it? Do you have DSL, or Cable? Important before going to the next step. Please post them. First. If you have Cable , goto the next step. If not, don't Click This it should take you to your routers interface, don't change anything that you are not familiar w/. Look around until you see the DHCP setting, make sure it is set to ON.
24. Sounds like a IP conflict . Make sure the DHCP server is on in the router. PLease tell us your ISP, and the package you have, as well as the layout of your network devices. BTW, welcome to testmy.net
