dlewis23 Posted February 25, 2006 Author CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 I guess that is modern warfare. Not exactly as glorious as in years gone by. no its not glorious, but it gets the job done. its just amazing that they were 2.5mi away, and were that accurate. pucker21 Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 You sure that this information is correct? The Comanche program was scrapped, and I don't know of any 50mm cannon on any helicopter I know of. Just curious.

Just curious. shows how much you know, the comanche was not scraped, it is very much alive. and the comanche can have a 50mm cannon. it can also have a 30mm and a 20mm. it all depends on the mission type. tommie gorman Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 K O O L ! Lets argue It was still a "K O O L VIDEO" Even if they were shooting Daisy BB pistols, they wasted some sheet, and warned others what could could happen!!!!!!!!!! ______________________________________________________________________________ By the way pucker21, welcome to the forum! wknight40 Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 You may want to recheck your info. This is an Apache video using 30mm cannon. Here are the links to back it up. Follow them and you will get to the edited versions of this video. Everyone of these talks about an Apache not the Commanche. http://www.journalism.co.uk/news/story795.shtml http://home.comcast.net/~scpld/apache.htm http://www.rense.com/general47/vid.htm http://www.murdoconline.net/archives/000957.html
tommie gorman Posted February 26, 2006 CID Share Posted February 26, 2006 And if you figure up the area of a 30mm shell to be 26.88888888 times the size around of a 9mm shell. A-10 attack planes belching 4,000 rounds per minute of 30-millimeter cannon fire. DAMN, if those are the same cannon!! WOW!!

pucker21 Posted February 26, 2006 CID Share Posted February 26, 2006 Well shows how much you know, the comanche was not scraped, it is very much alive. and the comanche can have a 50mm cannon. it can also have a 30mm and a 20mm. it all depends on the mission type. Well I wasn't trying to start an argument, so no need to be defensive. I have been in the Army for 17 years now and work on helicopters. I worked on the Comanche project for 2 years, as well as taught at the schoolhouse. Believe me the Comanche program is very much dead. As far as the caliber of the weapon, wknight40 is absolutely correct, it is a 30mm chain gun. And thanks for the welcome tommie.
