tstillery Posted May 25, 2006 CID Share Posted May 25, 2006 Its seems thats you are very knowlegable on bikes i have been looking at them lately and it has come down to a Suzuki and a buell i really like the beull due to that fact of it being made in the USA well i think it is do you have any input? i like the street ride instead of a cruiser. here is a link to the beull http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes_gear/firebolt/xb12r/index.asp and it only $10,495 here is the one for the suzuki http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSXR750K6/Default.aspx so it is in the price range of the japs models any input would be nice from anyone Thanks tstillery
coknuck Posted May 25, 2006 CID Share Posted May 25, 2006 Personally I would get a Buell. Their fast handle good. The gas milage is not to bad either. Plus you can get go fast kits form S&S Cycles. I saw a show not long ago compairing it to some Rice Rockets of the same class and the riders preferred the Buell for it handling. It might have not been as fast on the straight aways but was better in the corners. But it all comes down to what you like. I myself still ride the same Knucklehead I've had for the last 30yrs. Good luck in your choice.
RAINMAKA Posted May 25, 2006 CID Share Posted May 25, 2006 i many not be a expert on bikes but i do know that buells are good bikes just because all the things ive heard from my dads friend, who is a buell service tech. maybe thats why my dad wants me to get a buell so bad. tommie gorman Posted May 25, 2006 CID Share Posted May 25, 2006 I kinda of like the Blast a little better, all the newer bikes are a lay down model. But that one appears that you can at least sit up a little more. The lay down style would start to hurt my back too much. Just my thoughts. Maybe some pull backs? paladin Posted May 26, 2006 CID Share Posted May 26, 2006 If I was gettin, I'd get a Harley D, but I ain't gettin. :haha: Last thing I rode was an ole Indian in 1949. Laid it down on gravel and bout busted a gut gettin it up. People just don't look for cycles, they will run you over.
tstillery Posted May 30, 2006 Author CID Share Posted May 30, 2006 Well i went and re-uped in the Army Reserves because i want to finish my time i have 10yrs left to do. i singed on as a 25L and that will come with a $15,000 prior service bonus so me and the wife went and looked at HD motorcycles and found this one http://www.harley-davidson.com/PR/MOT/2006/06_template.asp?bmLocale=en_US&family=dyna&model=FXDC&market=US&modelsection=specs its kind of pricey so i don't know tstillery
coknuck Posted May 30, 2006 CID Share Posted May 30, 2006 Just about anything new from H-D is going to be pricie. I sold this bike to a friend of mine 4mos. ago for $7000. It a 1988 FLHTC 85th Anaversary #237 of 850 with 25,000 miles on it. Just like my Knucklehead better.

tommie gorman Posted May 30, 2006 CID Share Posted May 30, 2006 Nice looking bike tstillery, it even looks like a real bike. And American made is the way to go. Couldn't you get a military discount, and maybe get them to throw in the optional security system?
