What is the best free Optimizing program?

Recommended Posts

Yep, the Optimizer is the easiest, and requires no settings to change. Only the dial if you want to tweak it.  :uglystupid2: If I can do it, so can you.  :grin2:

Some folks like myself have tried both and found the Optimizer faster.

Although some like the tweakability of cablenut.  :wink2:

And you do get great speeds also Blunted 2.

Actually in your case you might want to go with cablenut. I think most folks on OOL here have that. Like speedy up there.  :iamwithstupid: <<< They really need to change the sign. Or make a new one.  :grin2:

Somethings are dead on what to do [never use regular cheap Norton, McAfee, or AOL] But most things have exceptions. I hear a lot about Maxthon, might try it some day. I did try IE7 and it did slow operations a bit, not the speed but the way I do things out of habit. Finally decided it was not worth the change.

Tabs, is that like IE7's tab browsing??

I use drtcp .. then  I went on google and put in recommended settings for drtcp  there are a lot of different sites.  http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/tweak2.htm is one were i found some usefull info. my speed went from 2 meg up to 5 after i put in the recomended settings .. hope this helps you

hi I am on a adsl and up to 8 meg broadband. but like i said before i can only get up to five or six.  it must be how far i am away from the exchange.  before i used drtcp I was only getting 1.5 and up to 2 meg . but after the tweaking suggestions it made a big improvement.

your not going to see the 8MB i would think you should be able to get faster then 5 or 6. have you tried tweaking with anything else other then drtcp.
