drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 @jun101ph can you give me instructions on how to change Access points on the canopy settings?? I have access, just doesnt know how to.. A little nudge on the correct path would do miracles.! thanks!
jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Here is the steps: 1) Once you are now in the canopy platform, click on the tools, then click on AP Evaluation. You will see a list of access points. Look for the RSSI with higher value and get the corresponding color code. 2)Go to Configuration and click Radio. ( remember the default color code ) Change the color code with the new one. 3) save changes and then reboot.

drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 @jun101ph - what are the criterias that i'll be looking on the AP list for a good connection?? just the Highest RSSI and the lowest Jitter? or are there any other things that I should be lookin at?
drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Oh! and by the way. When you say reboot... is it the reboot on the canopy?? or reboot for the whole computer? me <- I know its a stupid question, but I'd just like to clarify. Coz I tried to click on the reboot ont eh canopy. and Im not really sure what happened...
jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Just the two paramaters RSSI and Jitter. Reboot meaning your canopy need to be restarted, not your pc Actually it should be done by an installer, but it takes you 100 calls to the TSR before they will send you a field technician.hehe.. jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 what's your latest RSSI reading? @drizzt1911
drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 the highest RSSI that I got is 279 But I got a quick and steady connection on this. Actually Im using it right now. now whats more concerning is. that when I looked on the AP list and found the default color code I sued to have. Index: 1 Frequency: 5755.0 MHz ESN: 0a-00-3e-f2-36-a0 Jitter: 7 RSSI: 245 Power Level: -76 Beacon Count: 5 BRcvW: 1 DFS: 0 FEC: 0 Type: Multipoint Avail: 1 Age: 0 Lockout: 0 RegFail 13 Range: 4165 feet TxBER: 1 EBcast: 1 Session Count: 2 NoLUIDS: 0 OutOfRange: 0 AuthFail: 0 EncryptFail: 0 Rescan Req: 0 FrameNumber: 1774 SectorID: 4 Color Code: 112 BeaconVersion: 1 SectorUserCount: 40 Frequency: 5755 NumULHalfSlots: 18 NumDLHalfSlots: 55 NumULContSlots: 3 take note on the SectorUserCount!!!! pther AP have below 30. now what im thingking is that, it may have too many users?? Im just guessing...
jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Probably right, too many users on your AP. Try reorienting ur antenna to a different position and then take a look at the RSSI again on the AP list until you can get a higher RSSI. your link is very poor. jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 @drizzt1911 If the RSSI is still below 500 even you tried my suggestion, I highly recommend you to have a stinger on your antenna. that's the only way i think that increases RSSI to 500 +. drizzt1911 Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 wont the constant changing of the colorcode mess up our smart registry/registration or something?? now im really worried.. right now. I got a steady connection, but my speed is crap compared to before that has above average but keeps me getting me disconnected.
jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 @drizzt1911 di naman makasira yung palit ng palit ng color code. the best thing u can do is to report that to the CSR thru email.
badogece Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 The connection has timed out The server at 169.254.1.1 is taking too long to respond. * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web. after following those steps dictated above. This would appear after changing the ip. Is my motorola canopy blocked? Is there any solution for this? pls help..

jun101ph Posted June 18, 2007 CID Share Posted June 18, 2007 Pare I'm also a smartbro victim, ang problema kasi is yung RSSI mo masyadong mababa less than 400, plus yung base station nyo i'm sure may sira, hindi makapagbigay ng tamang bandwidth. As I always suggest, make a documentation of your speedtest and complaints and email it to smartbro. That's the only way to improve your connection.
