pixiepistlz Posted November 30, 2008 CID Share Posted November 30, 2008 When doing your Christmas cards this year, take one card and send it to this address. If we pass this on and everyone sends one card, think of how many cards these wonderful special people who have sacrificed so much would get. When you are making out your Christmas card list this year, please include the following: A Recovering American Soldier c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center 6900 Georgia Avenue,NW Washington,D.C. 20307-5001

tommie gorman Posted November 30, 2008 CID Share Posted November 30, 2008 Isn't that the one we all did last year? Yeah it was cool too.
Shug7272 Posted November 30, 2008 CID Share Posted November 30, 2008 Isn't that the one we all did last year? Yeah it was cool too. Not sure. Just figured the amount of cards sent would be larger if the internet guys didnt have to leave the house to do it. Besides, its no secret what I think their gift should be(should have been year after year for at least 3 years now) they should be home opening presents and loving their families instead of being shot killed and maimed. wknight40 Posted November 30, 2008 CID Share Posted November 30, 2008 Not to rain on anyones parade, especially since our soldiers deserve everything we can support them with but check this link first before wasting time and money. http://www.snopes.com/politics/christmas/walterreed.asp This is of course in referance to the first post. Thoughts are in the right place but that address will no longer work.

Shug7272 Posted November 30, 2008 CID Share Posted November 30, 2008 I would hope they would not just throw them away.
wknight40 Posted November 30, 2008 CID Share Posted November 30, 2008 Maybe not. Do not rely on the original address if you are wanting to send card to our soldiers. Use the Xerox, if it still works, or the link in tommies post to send the cards. According to the original page the cards could be destroyed without ever being opened. pixiepistlz Posted December 1, 2008 Author CID Share Posted December 1, 2008 My kid's can't wait to customize their own though. They are anxious.... gonna pull out the construction paper tomorrow and the craft items. It is just so much more personal when the kid's are hands on.
