TraNsEdgE 01 Posted November 1, 2005 CID Share Posted November 1, 2005 It is such a fake trasfer rate, i have 48 kb/s transfer and it gave me 28 kb/s to my other computer on cable line. Why show the speed if it isn't even right? Anyone else had these problems?
raptors892004 Posted November 1, 2005 CID Share Posted November 1, 2005 peak times? maybe something else uploading from your connected computers, cuz when its a shared line, bandwidth and speed are distributed evenly sometimes..

resopalrabotnick Posted November 2, 2005 CID Share Posted November 2, 2005 does aim send client to client or does it buffer the file over the aim servers? in that case the 38kB would be your internet upload... :
krazy Posted November 2, 2005 CID Share Posted November 2, 2005 ^ As far as I know, the files are sent through the AIM servers...thats why the upload speeds are so slow.
xs1 Posted November 2, 2005 CID Share Posted November 2, 2005 No.. aim transfers use your connection and the person your direct connecting to. hense the name... Iv never had problems with aim with transfers... i get my full upload speed just fine, and thru lan speeds ranging from 2000 kbs to 9000. Blunted 2 Posted November 3, 2005 CID Share Posted November 3, 2005 i could only get about 4,500KB a sec with aim but on ftp on lan i get about 24,000KB a sec

DJVageli Posted November 3, 2005 CID Share Posted November 3, 2005 Yea,but it doesnt make sense how from laptop to PC the transfer rates are on par for a LAN connection while from PC to laptop its like im uploading to a friend somewhere else
