FiosFiend ;Isolationist would be close I have posted the term protectionist describing my general political stand on the USA & other countries.Yeah Walmart would be pretty screwed by what I would like to see ,China too.Because part of the Isolationism would be basically to declare the USA's foreign debts null & void .With a try to collect them if you can.This probably isn't going to please some I would be for annexing Mexico & Canada Dividing them into states. so the whole North American continent would be the USA..Completing the Manifest Destiny Doctrine.Might as well add Cuba too. Before this riles anyone up I don't see this happening so its just my opinion on it. I would have voted for Pat Buchanan if he had a snowballs chance in hell to have won. Goes to the fixed election hard to win from the non fixed side. All of this is philosophical because there are a group of families with the most money world wide .These control the way that money flows & this controls a lot of politics in the USA & in the rest of the world.They will keep the USA from being an isolationist country. On the US bases I knew we had one in Japan because of the rape cases there some years ago.I thought there was probably one in S. Korea I just hadn't checked.That kind of makes the N.Korean taking the US Navy ship in their waters for spying kind of ridiculous.It's been awhile on this & I've forgotten all the details.In the long run we got it back. On the far side :If we (the USA could figure out how to build a Star Trek type force Field that would protect us from what ever the rest of the to pollute the Earth.)Then I would like to resign & see what the rest did to the Earth.& before it starts the USA is a major polluter in the world.& we are responsible for a lot of it elsewhere because our companies move to countries where they are allowed to pollute.This way they can make goods for the US market cheaper so more proffit. Not to get into the almost slave wages paid.No wonder we can't compete with this in the USA.I don't want to compete but correct.I don't believe we have the right to interfer with other countries directly (unless they attack us).But if we did not allow anything to be imported from countries that pollute in ways that are against the law here & no goods made by labor paid slave wages .That is our right & would go a long way to correct it.This would kind of kill the need for outsourcing

wak_wak ;Like tommie gorman more RAM but not too much for some PC's.On the virtual memory you are going to see all kind of suggestions.You just need to try some settings & if you get an out of memory warning increse the max setting about 25%.I personally like zero for my minimum.some say set min & max the same;Others say let Windows manage it.I posted a pretty tech article on it awhile back that might help you understand virtual memory better.I will see if I can find it & link you to it. I think I will leave the dangerous one out but yours reminded me of one.In my auto shop class when a new student was working on a car near the spark plug tester.One of the old students would go "help them .Then when they were bust & needed a wrench we would hand them one wired to the tester & hit the test button.I've cause a couple of skinned heads with this one. I also had a friend put an exhaust whistle on one of my cars.Pretty funny really. I was doing some dirt offroad driving in my old Sprite about 60 mph when I felt a jolt & saw my front wheel heading across the prarie without me.The spindle had broke. I liked the exhaust flamer idea.

tdawnaz;What you said about a mechanic not being able to hold the car is sort of true.There are some ways around it.One the repair order is a contract & a properly written one gives your permission for the car to be held if you don't pay.Then to be sold in a specified number of days.A good on even specifies storage fees .So a smart mechanic can keep the car until paid.Purposly tearing it up before you owm it could get a mechanic sued .I would never do that no matter how tempting. Texas also has some tough laws if you write a mechanic a hot check.So for even the shade tree mechanics write up a repair order & have the customer sign it. tommie gorman & I seem to have some car adventures in common .Like I said I never purposley tore one up.Except for one I helped build for a demolition derby.But I'm lucky to be alive with some of the things I did do.

tommie gorman ;I haven't checked to see if there is still a US base in S.Korea.I sure wouldn't be suprised to find one. If it was up to me & it's not likely to be .There would be no US bases in foreign countries .We would dismantle them all & keep the troops here.The one exception would be the naval one in Cuba for obvious reasons. Then I would get the act that won't let US troops do thing domestically repealed.& use them for basically everything that needed to be done. Then we would just defend ourselves from our own soil. Of course I would give the UN the boot & send them where they shoud be Geneva. I would send most of the foreign embassies packing.Then we would see if the citizens of the USA could be self-sufficient.I think we could.

fred ;I think most of us know about the Patriot Act(the unPatriot act is a better description) but would prefer jail to not having free speech.Following the course of true patriots like Patrick Henry. I see the topic has went to binLaden & whether Clinton could have had him killed.I think that is certainly possible.I don't have anything good to say about Clinton. To me I don't think it would have made a difference.If you kill binLaden he is just replaced by the next Middle Eastener in line with about the same religious views. The same is true for Saddam.Just wait & see what happens to Iraq after the USA spends I think we will leave Billions behind I think the bill will be at least a Trillion in Iraq. Certainly there aren't any US citizens that need any help with that kind of money.Were all rich you know.For anyone that fails to recognize it that was sarcasm. deven ;This is my belief on race.We are one race on the Earth .We all are descendants of the one pair Adam & Eve.There are just color & feature variations.This is true even if you pick a shade such as "white"( not really any white people if your talking about the actual color white)Lets say Caucasian even here a great variety of color & features.All mankind has the same number of chromosomes thats why we can breed with each other & produce fertile offspring.Even what scientists call our closest relative the chimpanzee we can't breed with .Even to produce infertile offspring.I mention this because a few species can crossbreed like horses & donkeys to produce mules .Mules are almost always infertile.So for the most part crossbreeding is not possible.If all of mankind considered us all one race there would be more peace.Not complete peace. Religion can be a problem some kill in the name of religion .I'm Christian but you have to admit that at least those that called themselves Christian have killed in the name of Christianity. Muslims seem to be the worst in present times killing even different sects of Muslims.The other religions they consider false so killing "infidels" is a good thing to them. The Japanese & German Nazi's during WW2 were butchers also.To the Jews the Nazis were worse .To POW's the Japanese were worse. I don't have any Friends that are Middle Eastern or Muslim so I can't say that any have compassion or that they don't have compasion.The other people of different color I have met & been friends with some.I have found both warm & friendly individuals as well as cold & mean ones.I can say the same about Caucasians.Or have you never had a "white " person stab you in the back.If you haven't you probably haven't lived long enough. Right now would I watch a Middle Eastern person closer ?Yes If I knew he was a Muslim even closer.I call that necessary prejudice or self-preservation .Sad thing is in many cases this wouldn't be necessary.

I guess FiosFiend & I are going to disagree on this.We each have our opinions & I haven't seen anything that changes mine.I probably really wouldn't nuke the whole Middle East not that anyone is going to give me the opportunity anyway. One problem I do have with the Middle East is now that the USA has meddled in their affairs the USA will never have peace with them.They can't even have peace with each other even when all sides are Muslims.If we had just let them settle it like they have tried for centuries & stayed out of it then we wouldn't be part of the jihad. I would let countries control their own destiny if they stayed out of ours.If we had been minding our own business for the last 60 years I don't think there would have been any terrorist attacks here. So far the praying for Hellfire & brimstone to fall on the Middle East like Sodom & Gemorrah hasn't worked for me.But I'm going to keep praying.

The Oklahoma City bombing is in a different category.In that it was done In America by an American.There are so many versions it's hard to say what Timothy McVey's reasons were for doing the bombing.Since he was even American born. The same could be said in any country where the person doing the bombing is a native fellow countryman.It's not the same as something done by a foreigner. I don't think anyone that did what McVey did could call himself a Christian.I sure don't think other Christian's would call him one. I think you can see how this differs from Muslim terrorists who are generally praised by there fellow Muslims.Even when they do terrorist acts in their own country it is against other sects of Muslims or Those of other religions or nationalities not their own people. I posted this I don't think the USA should have been in any war since WW2 the same would go for Brittian. For Isreal I think the best solution would be to let them take care of themselves with no sanction from the UN or elsewhere.Let them do what the need to to stay a free state .After a couple of strikes by Isreal with them taking whatever spoils of war they could the Muslims would think about attacking Isreal. Now on a lighter note.Since in my Christian view all people desended from Adam & Eve. So we are all part Jewish or completly Jewish as far as race goes.From the blackest of the African continent the the lightest Scandinavian. I won't evangelize but I had a friend that was an atheist who eventually became a Christian so I hope it works the same for you.

When I was a teenager I used to have the fountain at the drivein make a strawbreeycherry with double lime drink.They used the same strawberry & cherry they used for malts so it had the fruit chunks in it. Very tasty. Does anyone remember Pomac a grape drink that was discontinued ?

Miles_Smiles ;I would consider myself right wing & a Christian fundamentalist.However I disagree with Bush as you can tell by my posts.Being a protectionist I'm against Imperialism by the USA as well.To be called the "western twin of Al Quaeda" is insulting though.I don't think you can give one example of terrorism by Americans that has been done elsewhere in the world. Unless you are considering Bush going to war with Iraq as terrorism.I think once us Americans got past the propaganda from the Bush administration we are in general against the war in Iraq. I don't think we value our soldiers lives so much more valuable .The Muslims just believe their reward will be greater in Heaven so they are in more of a hurry to get there. I know this is a British term but if you ever visit you might not want to use the term Yanks in the southern USA.

CA3LE;I like the term subboards better.To the really tech savy it wouldn't be necessary but I didn't know the reason they were called child boards until I read your post above. I'm not a noob but still have a lot to learn.So for us with an average level of PC knowlege I think its better.

helloimtim;Glad to hear the sights not worse too bad it's not better.On the color themes At the top of the page under the scrolling news there is a theme button .Select the theme from there after you log in .It should stay the same after that if it doesn't then do it again.The same button wll also give a preview of all the themes if you select"See Theme List" this goes to the link CA3LE posted. Now for some hints; I have a wheel mouse it's a microsoft basic optical mouse.Other wheel mouses may work the same.When I press down on the wheel I get a 2 or 4 way arrow depending on if there are one or both scrool bars are showing.Then the page can be moved by moving the mouse .To stop this function I just click the wheel again.So with this I don't have to use the scrool bars.Some pages this doesn't work but it does with most. If you use IE then in Internet Options General at the botton there are 4 buttons the accessability one has option for you to use you own fonts & font sizes on web pages.The fonts also gives you some choice of the web page fonts used.Colors lets you use you own text & background colors. I have Windows ME so if you have XP this might be different .In display properties in apperance you can choose the font size & style on Windows Items & text. so a wheel mouse like I use might help with the scrool bar problem. In addremove windows setup in Control Panel there are some Accessability options I haven't used these but if you have them you might give them a try.

JFK did some good things & anyone that says anything bad about him is probably in for an attack.I was in third grade in class when they announced JFK had been shot.Since I'm a Texan I'm going to comment on LBJ another sorry oilman that bought his power with money. I have enough conspiracy theory to defend without saying anything about LBJ's part in JFK's assassination.LBJ was definately a very powerful Senator before becoming vice-President.LBJ was elected to the term after he finished JFK's. I too have spent time in the library & have used the card catalogs many times to research.And them stone tablets are heavy.

I could be guilty of believeing the propaganda about this but Thousands of black votes were thrown out & black voters falsely denied the right to vote by being falsly called ineligable.Like having a felony when they didn't.This was in Florida. I didn't like Kerry or Bush.I don't know about Gore I have heard him speak since & think he had possibilities.I didn't like Clinton .I guess the last president I liked was Nixon & he was dishonest too.Carter was a good man but didn't do much as President. I guess we need to bring Washington or Jefferson back from the dead.Maybe Sylvia Brown or James von Prague can get ahold of them.

I don't have much to add to dn0 or dlewis23's post.If you can get it DSL is usually cheaper than modem bonding .If dial-up is all you can get then this is the only way to increase speed.There has been a topic or two about this.If you do decide that you have a phone system capable of trying it then I will see if I can find these topics at testmy. & more info elsewhere.I haven't tried it myself but I have researched it .You definatly need to check with your ISP to see if they support modem bonding.Even then there are a couple of ways they do it.One can be very expensive because they charge you by the minute for the second account.
