  1. RaWDiZ : I thought if I put them all here you could decide on the correct one for your connection & OS. Start with the next to the smallest & work up until the larger RWIN slows your performance then go back to the next smaller one.I don't think you will need anything above the largest RWIN here. You have to have scaling enabled for everything but the smallest RWIN value in each list. These are the suggested RWIN's from the speedguide.net Tcp/IP analyzer The first one is for PPPoE with 1492=MTU 1452=MSS 511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4) 127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 63888 (MSS x 44) The second one is for other broadband 1500=MTU 1460=MSS 513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4) 128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 64240 (MSS x 44) The third is for PPPoE using XP & without a router. 1480=MTU 1440=MSS 506880 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 253440 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4 126720 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 63360 (MSS x 44)
  2. peepnklown : Ok so 2000 doesn't call it system restore .System recovery so MS could call it something different for the newer OS.I think the link you posted has good info . Recovery Console & Safe Boot Windows 2000 allows several options for booting to a minimal set of drivers for troubleshooting or system recovery.
  3. RaWDiZ :I am not sure what your OS is you should have a setting in your Cablenut
  4. sandandsnow22: Have you tried System Restore? Or StartRun scanreg /restore
  5. RaWDiZ: All of the RWIN's in the list in my post will give you an Unscaled Receive Window of 64240 with windows scaling enabled. For mine I use 128480 like in the post but unscaled it is 64240.That means if I understand scaling is if all the RWIN I need to load a web page or any data is 64240 or less then it uses the unscaled RWIN.If windows needs more RWIN then it starts scaling up to 128480.If you need it to be even larger you use the 256960 or 513920 I don't think you will need to go higher or even that large. If your OS is fastest at 513920 then you can go higher by continueing to add 64240 .I think this is correct you might hav to add128480 each time.the test at speed guide will tell you its right by the unscaled RWIN staying at 64240.I think the largest possible that will scale to 64240 is 65781760.After that it doesn't scale right.I don't know why But I did that playing around you would never need a RWIN that large.
  6. RaWDiZ : If you are interested in the method you asked about first try PMing Orignal_Cronicus he also has an e-mail address in his member profile.I don't know if it is a good address of fake one I haven't tried to use his method for RWIN. Try this for setting your RWIN first do the TCP/IP analyzer test at the following site to determine your RWIN.

  8. I say OUCH!!! they removed the deformed one & attached it to his forearm. For some reason this made it grow . Then they reattached it.
  9. I will have to find all that out sometimes she takes a while to respond..I haven't worked with nic myself.I may have her read this & post here.
  10. I will have to ask I think its a DSL but I can't remember.I had her check for conflicts before on the old driver when I was trying to find what the problem was & there weren't any conflicts then.I need to have her check with the new driver. The problem is it takes a while because she has to install the driver to check then install the old one to get back on the internet.BTW the new driver completly corrects the display problem.
  11. Here is some more information on the driver:Graphics Driver [WIN9XE67.EXE, WIN9XM67.EXE]
  12. hey all I have still been trying to help Randon fix her display. Her system has an onboard video chip. Intel
  13. bent240LV: I use a couple of them but If you use more than one you have to syncronyze them so they don't drive each other crazy. Each one has some different features.Basically they compress data in your RAM.If you have a lot of RAM you really don't need them for this but they have some other features you might like. These are the 2 I use.I think I got them from PC Guide or Major Geek I'm not sure which I have had them awhile. m power version 1.2 from mindbeat.com RAM Def 2.6 Xtreme
  14. I reread the whole topic I saw where you tried the 6 setup disks but I didn't see anywhere that you said you tried or had a startup disk. This will be my last post in this topic. Since the information I provided in this topic didn't help the problem I removed it. Cholla
  15. paladin : I only ever had one sip of moonshine when I was 13 a Friend of mines dad brought it back from Tennessee. At that age any alcohol burned.I have had some Everclear I think it was 180 proof it kind of tastes like lighter fluid smells. I prefer Jack Daniels myself.
  16. PeePs: just 1 question do you have a XP start up disk?

  20. I'm a long haired country boy from Texas .I've been on a horse even rode one bareback with no reins I just use the mane & ears(if necessary) to guide the horse.I prefer a saddle & reins though.I've worn out more than one pair of western boots but I prefer sneakers. So does that qualify as a cowboy? paladin : I think your supposed to drink moonshine from a mason jar.

  22. LZO : Some of us might be able to help you with dial-up.I have dial-up & have posted some tweaks They are for Windows 98 &ME so I don't know if they would help with XP .I'll put in the links & you can look at them.I will also do a screen shot of my cablenut settings . https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=4277.0 https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1772.0 https://testmy.net/forum/t-1633.msg16431#msg16431
