  3. Hey, lalalax3, I saw your other thread about the modem going offline occassionally. (http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=14966.msg157068;topicseen#new) All these problems your having are most likley related. Call your ISP like everyone is suggesting. There is a good chance that either your Rx or Tx levels are out af range, but with a Toshiba modem it is tough to poll the modem for levels. Cox will be able to tell you if that is the problem.
  4. Download isn't looking too hot, either. lalalax3, have you tried any tweaks? 6. Better to be safe. It's got to be tough to suit up, get all psyched up and then be told to stand down. I think they really love their jobs, and it is probably no big deal to them. I will re-tune into this thread tomorrow - see you all there. PS - I'm glad I stumbled on to the NASA TV link, it's neat to see it all live.
  7. Sweet, everyone's link showed 6124kbps down, and 879kbps up. I like the consistency, lol. It must be cached in my browser somewhere, I'll post the text: My stats: Download 30 Day Stats (Overall Average = 5008 Kbps :: 611 KB/sec) Upload 30 Day Stats (Overall Average = 909 Kbps :: 111 KB/sec) ISP (cox): cox.net Download Average = 4811 Kbps :: 587 KB/sec --- 10468 records found (30 days of logs) cox.net Upload Average = 689 Kbps :: 84 KB/s --- 3006 records found (30 days of logs)
  8. They say there in a "no go" status at the moment because of cloud cover, but that can change in the next 3 hours. Here is the direct link to the live NASA TV feed: http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1369080
  9. That would suck, except for the scantally clad women
  10. I don't know if I would go that far, cholla. But I have one child and no desire for any more, so I'm with you. I do not agree with these freakin' baby machines pumping out 12-13 kids over a few years. What is the point of that? It's not that they love babies so much, it's the baby making part that they can't control. That will be part of our downfall. But, I am not ready for the Chinese solution....
  11. Interesting read. I like the statistics about our current rate of population growth, and where we will be by year 4810 a.d. if it stays the same. 12. Glad your OK. Did the lightning take to the ground properly?
  13. I don't see too many complaints from the Omaha Cox system, looks like it's running pretty good here to me. I should have upgraded a long time ago.....
  14. Awwhhh, DAMN! I now have a headache and there are squares everwhere I look!!! My life will be changed if the squares don't go away, lol.
  15. I still think it is a router issue since you will get the "Network Cable Unplugged" message. If you were just loosing your internet service momentarily or there was some noise on your line, you would not get that message. Check the date and version of your firmware. You need to know which hardware version you have, it is on the tag I believe. Go to this Linksys support page and follow it through to the firmware section: Click Here

  17. Well, I finally got rid of my old trusty SB4200 and updated to the Moto SB5120 and also upgraded to the premium speeds. Very annoying, had to use IE to post this.
  18. php is on it.....are you running the latest firmware? My parents WRT54G had a similar issue until the firmware upgrade.
  19. Reno 911 - That's funny as Hell......step bump, step bump bump..
  20. That would be funny if the law turned against the coffee shop. If they do advertise free WI-FI, then you're right, the freeloader may have a case.
  21. I guess he should have bought a cup of joe once in a while. By Gregg Keizer TechWeb.com Thu Jun 22, 6:32 PM ET A Vancouver, Wash. coffee shop tired of seeing a 20-year-old man mooch off their free wireless Internet access called the police, who charged him with "theft of services." Brewed Awakenings employees dialed 911 after Alexander Eric Smith of Battle Ground, Wash. piggybacked off the shop's wireless Internet service for more than three months. "He doesn't buy anything," Emily Pranger, the shop's manager, told KATU, a Portland, Ore. television station. "It's not right for him to come and use it." Smith allegedly parked his truck in the parking lot to use Brewed Awakenings' wireless access. County deputies charged Smith with theft of services after returning to the parking lot after they told him to stop. The crime, which covers such crimes as bypassing a utility meter, stealing cable, and leaving a restaurant without paying, has been used in the past to prosecute hackers who have accessed a computer or network without paying for it. "It's something that is borderline creepy," Pranger said to KATU. The Clark County sheriff's office and its prosecutors are reviewing the case, the television station's Web site noted. DOCSIS

    The unfortunate part is the equipment change out. Docsis 2.0 has been around for a while, but most modems were not 2.0 capable until recently. A total swap out by Comcast, for example, will cost ~$30.00 x 9.0 million = $270,000,000. Most modems out there now are 2.0 compliant, but a couple years ago they were all only 1.0-1.1 compliant. I assume this is one main reason the isp's are dragging their feet, not to mention the head end equipment upgrades.
  23. Man...... does your system log all of that in real time?
