  1. Now I am running out of ideas. ( this happens alot ) If your ISP is having problems, then the manual proxy setting should have gotten you there. You can ping it, although when manual entring the IP, I can't connect either. Have you tried clearing your cache and re-booting? (don't know why this would help, but worth a shot)
  2. Now that makes it look even better, I would gone like the Road Runner -- beep beep
  3. Hmmm, maybe it's being blocked somewhere. I am curious, try the proxy setting that I pasted below, see if that gets you there. I am running thru it right now (for a test) and I can reach dlink there. It's under Tools; Options; General; Connection Settings:
  4. Odd, you could not access thru the proxy? Does it give you an error? like 404 not found?
  5. That sounds like a decent deal for a wireless option. I am assuming that you are in a rural area? (btw, I edited my last post)
  6. I like the claim of no bandwidth limits. They basically yell it out on their site, so it hopefully is true. Will beat the heck out of the DWay FAP issues. Are you going with the high (2.5/512) residential plan? They actually give a guaranteed minimum speed: http://www.unitewireless.com/faq.html#11 11. Please explain "Upload/Download" speed. Download is the process of information coming from someplace else to you. When you browse to a web page, you are "downloading" that page. When you get a file from some place on the internet, you are downloading that file. Upload is the process of sending information from your computer onto the internet. The most common upload for most users is the simple request to "download" a new web page. Our technology provides consistence speed for up to 10 miles from central service area. The download and upload speeds listed are burst rates. Unite Wireless policy on burst rates is based on industry (Cable and DSL) policies with regard to speeds listed. We cannot guarantee that results from popular online tests will result in the speed listed on a particular package. We strive to provide as quick a service as possible and will always work to make the test results as close as possible to the rate listed. Business packages are not based on burst rates and should always show the rates listed. Our guaranteed minimum download rates for all packages are listed below. Remember that our guaranteed speeds are superior to most DSL and Cable providers. Be careful not to purchase internet service from providers that DO NOT publish their minimum guaranteed speed. Promo/Starter = 128K/64K Basic = 256K/128K Gamer = 384K/128K Premier = 512K/384K Ultimate = 756K/512K T1 = 384K/384K T2 = 756K/756K T3 = 1.5M/1.5M T4 = 3M/3M
  7. Very strange, I guess we are being redirected and I don't see where> Try this link, REV: http://www.dlink.com/consumer/ Maybe it can get you there, although it still returns the same IP address. edit: Maybe try a public proxy server? http://www.publicproxyservers.com/
  8. C:>ping www.dlink.com Pinging www.dlink.com [64.7.210.132] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 64.7.210.132: bytes=32 time=49ms TTL=113 Reply from 64.7.210.132: bytes=32 time=49ms TTL=113 Reply from 64.7.210.132: bytes=32 time=49ms TTL=113 Reply from 64.7.210.132: bytes=32 time=49ms TTL=113 Ping statistics for 64.7.210.132: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 49ms, Maximum = 49ms, Average = 49ms Odd, I guess I've never seen this before. If the DNS is returning the above IP for dlink's site, shouldn't I be able to type that IP in directly? It gives me an error message.
  9. I have no probelms either REVOLUTIONIZED, can you ping it? 64.7.210.132 Try the IP above, maybe your ISP's DNS is wacked. edit: I can't get there with the IP myself - that's strange I get this message: No web site is configured at this address. But that is the IP that the DNS returns.
  10. Looks like its settled for thee time being: (from Yahoo and the AP) Deal Reached on Managing the Interenet We are safe for now.
  11. :haha: dumbass. Kinda reminds me of the joke about a redneck's last words: "Hey everybody, Watch this!!"
  12. That's beautiful pred2272 So your ISP says they don't have or can't find a problem? Post your modem levels if you can.
  13. Sweet - please take a video camera with (NOT because of the speedos) My little brother just went moose hunting in NW Alberta about a month ago. He got a big bull moose (with a gun, not a knife). After the kill, they cleaned and quartered it. Then they went down to a stream about 200 feet away to clean up. When they returned, one of the 200 pound hind quarters was gone. He looked into the brush and saw a Grizzly holding the hind quarter in his mouth. Had to be a big bear to easily hold 200 pounds with his teeth. So, they ended up letting him have it, the bear apparently did not want to make a deal. The scary part is that the bear had to be right behind them watching them clean the moose.
  14. They look good. It looks like you have a little more attenuation in line, maybe you run through more than one splitter before the cable hits the modem, but I would not worry. Those numbers are well within the comfort range. Both your guys levels are better than mine, and I have have no problems. I have an extra 3 way splitter in my comp room, because I am always messing around with the setup. Frequency 595779700 Hz Locked Signal to Noise Ratio 36 dB Power Level 7 dBmV (this would be a lot lower, but I have an amp, which is NOT recommended) The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. Please Reload/Refresh this Page for a new reading Upstream Value Channel ID 4 Frequency 22000000 Hz Ranged Power Level 50 dBmV
  15. Good, then your receive level of 0 dB is perfect, and you couldn't ask for a better downsteam SNR (38 dBmV). That is the difference between the signal level and the noise level, the larger the ratio (in dB), the better. Simply, the closer your signal level is to your noise level, the better chance you have of experiencing interference from that noise.
  16. Nope, everything looks good- was I right on the modem model number? If not, what model Motorola is it?
  17. Hey Blunted2, you actually can't just change any of those levels. It is all relative to your signal level, the condition of the cable plant, and your home cable condition. Your levels look good, they appear to be from a Motorola modem, and I am going to take a guess at the model: An SB3100 since the RX level is reading zero. That is unlees your input happens to be zero dBmV at the moment.
  18. Like FallowEarth says, sounds like your PC NIC may be set to 100base/t static, and most of those Toshiba modems (like the one in front of me now) are 10 base/t. I would be sure your NIC is set at auto sensing for now, and then power everything down for a minute, then power back up, modem first, then PC. BTW, just unplug the modem power for a minute, then plug it back in....
  19. I am unsure how to tweak anything in Linux. What brand of modem do you have? Try getting the modem stats with this link: http://192.168.100.1 (or type it into your browser) This is the most common method of accessing the modem stats, but some modems won't work. I am curious what kind of modem RF levels you are at. (BTW, could I say 'modem' a few more times???)
  20. Welcome to the forum- What type of connection? dsl, cable, etc.... And try this thread for help: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=2097.0 Then let us know if it helps.
  21. Hope CA3LE shows up soon, but if he don't, then I will be happy to celebrate his B-Day for him in his place. Hope Stank doesn't end up jumpin' out of the cake.
  22. Make me feel bad, Aggr3, I was waiting till tomorrow but anyway: [shadow=red, left]HAPPY BIRTHDAY CA3LE!!![/shadow] /happy_bday.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':bday:' />:' /> And the next morning:
  23. 900 MHz splitter is fine, as long as it says 5-900 MHz. Here is a quick hastily made diagram I made for someone else a while back. Don't bust on my MS Paint skills, I know.... This is the best case scenario, it is not set in stone, though.
