Have you tried http://192.168.100.1 yet? I haven't found any specific info on the Linksys modem, and I have never dealt with a Linksys personally.

I don't want to condradict you or anything, but....... The bandwidth cap has nothing to do with signal strength or packet loss. DId a tech come out for your packet loss and signal problem?

Just installed the Serv-U ftp server. This was considerably easier than the built in Win2k Pro FTP server. Worked perfect the first time. Connected using IE 6. Thanks for the info, just- Larry, try this one if you want, it is simple and easy to set-up. I set one up using Windows 2000 Pro - using the built in Win2K ftp server. The set-up is fairly simple in this case and you can use IE to connect. I am not sure who is best, but I've seen Cute FTP around.....

Are you talking about Testmy's chat server? If so, it is the same as Testmy.net; 67.18.179.85 (at least I get the same IP address when I am logged onto chat) I am not a chat expert, though...

Welcome to the forum, and I apologize for calling you a spammer. Do you have Sprint's gsm wireless? (like a cell phone, or pcmcia card in a laptop) Or is it a Wi-Fi set-up? I have Sprint Vision wireless on a work notebook, and yes the latency is high. Not sure of the quality of voip service that could be achieved with it. Have you tried something free like Skype? Maybe give that a shot as a trial, or maybe some voip services will give you a trial period.
