Great news! BTW, if you did happen to disable System Restore in this process, don't forget to re-enable it.

I never have tried Stinger, but that was the only time I had the virus that would not go away. Just like billybob, every time I booted, it was there. I was at a loss, that's when I went to McAfee Support (I was a paying customer then) and they gave me this info. I saved it just in case of something like this....

OK, now that I got the document to work, you will see how mcafee lets you download their daily scan file for free. Then you run it in DOS while in safe mode, the directions are all their. I actually got this from a McAfee rep that I chatted with when I had this problem. This is the only waythat I was able to clean my system. I do run AVG now without any problems, I never had an issue with McAfee, though, I just like the free part of AVG. Hope it works for you if nothing else does, good luck.

Da*n it!!! I will get this to work.... Edit: attemp # 3: Try this word document.

I had the same problem with McAfee a while back. And I think it was the same or a similar named trojan horse. I ran a scan in safe mode, and it got rid of it. If all of your other attempts fail, read these 2 documents from McAfee. This is the only way I got rid of the virus. BTW, they recommend that you disable system restore when you do this, so that the virus does not get come back from a restore file. Edit: standby, I guess I can't upload HTML files. Try these .doc files:

I have seen 2 in my life, once as a child, and once about 3 years ago. It was about 10pm and out on a rural highway. We new there was a warning, but no where to stop. Then a flash of lightning, and it lit up the rope looking tornado a couple miles north of us, and fortunately it was moving north. Thats as close as I ever want to be.

I'm guessing that Verizon FIOS and Verizon DSL share the same IP range? That will eventually throw things way off.....

I think pitbull 481 was just stating that the original posters upload whips pitbull's download speed. Which it does, damn...

I am in the middle of that mess (Omaha), but it has been pretty quiet here in town so far...

Weather map is a little active tonight..... I count 32 reports of tornadoes so far. http://www.spc.noaa.gov/

OK, don't take this the wrong way, but remind me not to introduce my son to you, ever, ever. And NO, he can't stay overnight at your house. Now that you are getting steamed......I'm just BSing you. We all have the right to our own opinions. Obviously our 2 opinions differ greatly. I guess we will just have to wait to hear the jury's conclusion. He'll probably just get a slap on the hand for feeding the boy's a little booze.( which is the lesser of his crimes)

OK, but he freely admitted in front of a camera that he like to sleep in the same bed as these little boys. And that he thinks that there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. MJ has been given anything he wants his whole life, this is probably why he thinks that if he 'wants' to sleep with boys, than he should be able to. His world is warped, but thats no excuse.....
-
What The F.... Mediocre minds don't call up 5 year old boy's and ask to be their friends. AND THEN come over and "sleep over" with them. It is OK to like his career (although I have thought 'Freak" since day 1). But you can't use that to justify his out of line practices with young boys.......

Why can't I connect to my modem's diagnostics page?
dn0 replied to Svendog's topic in Networking and Hardware
I would double check all of the connections that you can, make sure they are tight. You don't need to apply heavy force to them, just be sure they are tight. The funny thing is that the Tx levels actually decrease, like the amplifier is picking up. Normally a problem causes Tx levls to increase. -

Those look quite good. It doesn't look like your connection problem is the levels, unless these levels fluctuate wildly. -

BTW, when you can get to your Diag page, what are your Rx,Tx and SNR readings? Are you maybe borderline, this could cause intermittent service. Post some levels back for us to see, please. -
I see. So the setting you are referring to probably just determines how much of that stored data can be cached in the browser at a given time.

Well, when the browser is downloading the data from TestMy.Net that is to be up-loaded, where does it cache that? Is that a browser setting, or does CA3LE's coding determine where that data that is to be uploaded is stored?

Thanks, I did not know that. I usually notice my screw up right when I push the POST button. -
Ahh, VanBuren you must have put on your smart hat this morning. If the browser will only cache so much, then it can't be accurate. My FF has this option (attachment), is this what you are talking about?:
