you got a quarter?
-
if you set up an easy way to change between connections i think you'll do good on the 256/128 package, especially since getting the bigger package wouldn't get you more upload.

the padt command is something that either your modem or the dslam (their kit in the swirtch) can send. it completely terminates the ppp session, as seen in the log. you have two of those disconnects in the log you posted, interestingly enough one of them occurs out of the blue while the other occurs /after/ the coomunication with the dns times out. definitely a call to verizon, tell them or offer to email them even that log or a similar one, and as always on an initial call, don't get your panties in a wad, they will in all likelyhood be willing to help, so make their job easier by being friendly to them. (personally i hate people getting all prissy like they own the world when requesting some form of service and the more they bitch the less i feel like helping or the more i give the runaround.)

Will my pc be a dinosaur in August of 2008?
resopalrabotnick replied to ratchet's topic in General Discussion
i doubt that p4 is 11 years old. i think he just kept buying dells instead of other brands because he is a satisfied cutomer and his most recent purchase was made in august 2k5 with a 3 year warranty and he is wondering how much good that warranty will do him in 2.5 years, wether he will be having dell fix a dinosaur or not. and i say no, will still be a perfectly good comp then, just like a 3 year old comp is now. -
oh, i really respect you now that you boast about playing games that simulate sexual assault. but seeing as you can't spell inbreed, i will adjust your spelling of that to read that you are the one that gets raped in games, which confirms my theory. as for me being an inbreed, i suggest you not put wild ass guesses about peoples heritage out there if you can't back them up with facts. your own ignorance is only confirmed by the fact that you tell me i'm on dialup. you haven't the foggiest idea. and i forgot, it's not you wasting the money, you tell your dad that in order for you to have any amount of self esteem you need to be able to operate as a split personality online, hence you need multiple connections. i bet the only games you win are those you play against yourself over them. which would at least in some sick way justify their existence. :haha: :haha:

hm, why is it that you are so fixated on hosting? is it maybe because you suck at the games but you pay 360 bucks a month for some bs t1 link so you can pound your hairless chest and proclaim you are the master at hosting games? i'm sure the players on your games are glad you waste all that money on being the biggest baddest host while they laugh at you.

you can upload 359 kbps. durrrrr. or upload one megabyte in 24 seconds. or use that upload to just browse the web niormally, as that is precisely what it is intended for and perfectly adequate at that. and before you start getting your panties in a wad over his 'bad ping times' the cap you claim he has or whatever, look at his dl. its almost 7 times faster than yours.

Will my pc be a dinosaur in August of 2008?
resopalrabotnick replied to ratchet's topic in General Discussion
of course it won't slow down, so all the apps you currently have running will still have way too much power available. for office work/web browsing you should be good for several years to come. as for gaming, every pc is a dinosaur for the latest games the moment you carry it out of the store. -
you might have to make a list of the other comp/comps on your net by checking their ip because on some routers that list shows a new ip for a device only after the lease for the previous one has expired. also, turning the ps2 off won't neccessarily remove its ip from the list for the same reason, the lease for yp x to mac address y is still active, so it will get the same ip when you turn it on again /and/ the ip won't be deleted from the list in the meantime.

good to see that you at least know that you base it on personal preference not facts, like my preference for intel. come to think of it that preference is based solely on the fact that i scored a t-shirt at a tradeshow from intel while amd gave me nothing. or wasn't even there? don't remember. it was the i486 today, intel pentium tomorrow t-shirt. yes, it was that long ago. i had two, and am still mad at myself for not saving one. i bet it would fetch a good price on e-bay nowadays.
-
so many intel haters posted, thought i'd put one in against amd.
-
fine just to even it out. let's see, what level are we down to now? oh, yeah... amd is retarded. buy intel. intel is the most awesome company in the world. amd will never <insert whatever>, intel is <insert whatever>, amd can't <insert whatever>, intel has <insert cool sounding feature>, who needs amd's <insert their cool sounding feature>, intel is good for <task>, amd is only good for <task>, and that only if <condition>. on that note, is bmw or mercedes better? edit: or better yet, does chrysler, gm or ford build the best cars?

A Ethernet Card Problem I think...
resopalrabotnick replied to DeadlyTiger's topic in Networking and Hardware
you can check the resources in the control panel. open control panel in classic view, select system, hardware tab, device manager. the ressources are things likeinterupts and memory addresses. -
that would explain why a minute after i started up this morning windows tells me that it's gonna restart to finish installing an update in the next 5 minutes wether i want to or not.
-
or get aol. a better internet. but seriously, probably some 3rd party prog to control it. there's several around. your router might also have some blocking functions, although they woud apply to everyone

A Ethernet Card Problem I think...
resopalrabotnick replied to DeadlyTiger's topic in Networking and Hardware
check if the resources for the 2 cards ended up being set to the same values. also, why not just hook up a pppoe capable router? that way the comp doesn't need to be on to share the connection to the xbox. -
well, as long as people call a haphazardly cobbled together woodshed project browser the best thing since sliced bread in spite of all its shortcomings i will happily bash it every chance i get. edited for spelling

Chicagoland Area Pitbulls Attack
resopalrabotnick replied to pitbull481's topic in General Discussion
the problem is solely that the pit has been bred as an aggressive species. this may have changed slightly in recent times when breeders pay more atention to the poor animals looks than it's mental or physical health, but centuries of breeding for short fuses is hard to undo
