  8. well, to be precise any e-mail or pm you receive that asks you for personal or financial information should be considered fraudulent. in general banks and online services will not ask these things via email or on their webhsite. if purchasing something online, some vendors allow you to check out with the order and then call in with the order number to give your cc information on the phone.
  9. rotflmbfhao this topic really made my night. see ya all tomorrow.
  10. which one are you with?
  11. so you're complaining that they are holding you to a contract you signed?
  12. you signed up for 2 years at 79 bucks a month. to get the new prices you need a new contract.
  13. http://news.yahoo.com/s/mc/20050926/tc_mc/motorolaceoscrewthenano;_ylt=AmdbdUNJqu.HUw51vMzhQFEjtBAF;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl i would prefer separate devices for phone/music etc. all in one means it does everything but nothing really well.
  14. sounds like you've been p2p'ing too much and caught yourself a whopper of a trojan. congrats! disconnect from the internet, scan for trojans and other baddies.
  15. which leads me to the question is the card number sufficient to create an atm usable copy to use with the pin? i would think there is more identifying info on a debit card than simply that which is printed on it. if it's not sufficient, why bother tipping people off by asking for pin?
  16. with the speeds he's getting let him have his dialup forum.
  17. well, whatever they are doing isn't working correctly, but the lower address does cut into the line ofr the adress bar one pixel or so so i thionk they are trying to overlay it with a floating graphic or some such bs.
  18. ie has the lock icon too and the address bbar is a question of skinning, isan't it?
  19. either yourt telco will offer a product with tywo combined t1s or you will have to use load balancers to achieve the speed. but you can basically combine any number of t1s, that is what the t2 and 3 connections are. but unless you have a shitload of wiring already coming into your building you will probably need to go fiber for that.
  20. i know it's a fake, i just wanted to show others the new feature i hadn't seen before. the address bar looks like it is actually supposed to overlay the original one, which if it did would make it even a worse phishing scam.
  21. if you combine them you will be able to use the bandwidth as you please. just like with your regular connection.
  22. got a phishing scam supposedly from paypal. the interesting thing is that while it's the regular please confirm, to confirm give us all your cc information scam, they have the normal pseudo paypal url and right under that the page displays an url that looks real.
  23. the only good thing about the puerto rican power grid is that you would never miss an upgrade. you get at least 3 to 4 power cycles a week. on a good week...
  24. you should be able to split the 24 lines (making it 64k intervals) any way you please. this is of course providing your telco lets you. you can, depending again on telco support, get a blockl of extension numbers for the t1 line. using multiple t1s should not be a problem providing you have enough wires into the building from the telco and you have the appropriate hardware to loadbalance onto them. as for multiple files at t1 speed, can you start 10 files on your 3mbit cable line and receive each one at 3mbit? that should make the naswer obvious.
