sounds like they have some very creative techs there that know how to block off service requests as long as possible to save the company money.

looks to me you're up a certain creek without a paddle. the x125 is discontinued, it only has usb ports and from the looks and description of the thing it is a gdi printer. basically this means that it needs all its info chewed up and digested by the operating system and then spoonfed via the usb. simply hooking it up to a usb print server will make it feel lonely. these types of printers can not operate as network printers, at least not using all their functions. as for buying a new printer, how much printing do you do. do you do color a lot, do you need an all in one, would a good printer and a scanner be an option? and of course any other info you can think of.

which is plenty if he wants to use the box as a network attached storage raid... no idea. too lazy to read the link. sounds noisy though.

so if the psx has tivo functions and is based on the ps1, the ps3 which is what the psx was supposed to be is a ps1 melded with a tivo? sounds like microsoft wins this round uncontested. :evil6: :evil6: :evil6: :evil6: :evil6:

if they are important enough to you (pricewise) then there is a bunch of data recovery companies out there. a quickformatted drive should be easy pickings for em. they usually can even recover drives recovered from burnt out comps and stuff. does anyone you know work at cia, nsa or fbi? they can do that on their lunch break...

does santa use regular dugup coal or does he use magically created SantaCoal ? if the latter, kicking your dog once a day could solve the worlds energy crisis...

use a download manager to throttle the download to a speed that will not eat up the 170 in the time it is measured. leave yourself some bandwidth for surfing etc. that way the fap should not kick in and the dl will go through at a steady clip. (for info on how many hours the 170 is calced over ask someone else here or contact dway.)

slower. at relativistic (speeds close enough to C to matter) you experience less time passing than an oberver traveling slower than you. if i circle you at C for a year you will have aged a year while i will have experienced no time.

the ping is the time it takes the comp you are pinging to send you a pong in reply. so in your case it takes 200ms round trip for the packets. be glad you aren't on dway or wb.

mind you, that's probably the better solution. the card eats 200 watts of 12v power? give it a brick that gives it exactly what it needs. better than putting an x00 wat psu in the box that splits its power into the 3.3v, 5, and 12v rails. keep the psu in the box at 400 watts to run basic equipment and drives, anything that has special power needs, like a graphics card that eats more than say 50 watts needs to bring its own power. the cost increase (especially percentage wise) on high end cards like that shouldn't be too bad, and it will probably help system stability if the bus only has to supply signals and not those huge amounts of power.

Mirror-Smooth_J - New Jersey USA speed not right

someone should sent the link to that mirrot to d-way so they can send customers that complain of low speeds there. -
reminds me of that voodoo 3 (?) card 12 or 13 years ago that came with its own power brick that plugged into the back of the slot cover.

voltageman. good point. if the switch was bumped with the chair and jammed in the 'pressed' postion (which is basically just jumping the power switch pins on the board as per atx specs) it may cause it to act that way.

i would expect the isp to frown upon the use of even legal p2p software, since the traffic of illegal stuff generated /by/ the p2p software is traffic that they need to pay for/traffic on their net they have to deal with. if they can use the argument that running the p2p software is against the rules because most of the stuff on p2p /is/ illegal to lower the load on their net i am sure they would do so happily.

that 'poll' is one of the things some of the noobies are doing nowadays to put their questions on here in a more obnoxious fashion.

resopalrabotnick replied to oirdec88's topic in Make it Faster...
excuse my french, but, :violent1: :violent1: :violent1: nothing personal. the UltraSlowBus will slow down your connection, pings etc. you need to get the ethernet up and running. -
ok, open da box, and make sure all the cards are well seated, also ram and cpu. check all cable connections. unplug and reseat everything. since you say it happened when you bumped it, you may have knocked something loose. also see if the psu has a fuse you can access. check that.
