Yep it is a very good score for dial^ up, the question of how fast can ya get a dial modem to go has been around for as long as the modem has. My idea is that the pay off for the work isn't that much, and of course there is a law setting the upper limit of the device..... But if I was using dial^ up I would be very happy with that

Thank you Reverend for the great info, I was looking for my hard copy the other day and still haven't found it. I noticed the red high lite on "666" LOL there is a state hwy not far from me and its # is "666" and people have complained for years to have it changed and they did recently. Like hotels and buildings not having thirteenth floors or room numbers ,its kinda funny but its not so unusual for people to be wary of these kinds of things. Again thanks

The "smurf" attack, named after its exploit program, is one of the most recent in the category of network-level attacks against hosts. A perpetrator sends a large amount of ICMP echo (ping) traffic at IP broadcast addresses, all of it having a spoofed source address of a victim. If the routing device delivering traffic to those broadcast addresses performs the IP broadcast to layer 2 broadcast function noted below, most hosts on that IP network will take the ICMP echo request and reply to it with an echo reply each, multiplying the traffic by the number of hosts responding. On a multi-access broadcast network, there could potentially be hundreds of machines to reply to each packet. Since your equiptment detected it, my guess is that it stopped it also,I really cant tell from the info you provided but this is just normal B.S. that goes on behind the scenes on most computers,. Just do a good system scan and look for any sign that there is a problem...... Microwave

Yeah a footwarmer rig is cool and all but it aint gonna make you the fastest gun in the west.....or anywhere for that matter although my youthful friends are in point of fact correct in their statements regarding where the "speed" comes from the fastest speed I ever posted from here was on an much older gateway machine running 98se and the reason I was able to do that is my ISP didnt have me capped for a few months, this goes back to August of 2003. Now with a much "faster" machine I have lower speeds only because my ISP got tighter with bandwidth.............. it just aint fair but it is reality ........ Im the oldest fart that post regularly on this site............... But there is no doubt that you have a very, very nice setup........ but I still have seen .s1 post higher scores with his emachine.....go figure......
