  1. It happens that way in the beginning. You get used to it. No biggie. I get embarrassed all the time, but it has gotten to be part of the fun. I just smile, lower my head, and duck out.
  2. But still pretty good speeds Swimmer. But I know how people get bored with certain speeds when all the action is going with FIOS.
  3. Yeah, they are a lot of work. But enjoyable time spent. I will probably be starting on mine by spring. Yanking out all the big block parts from a 70 429 LTD Brougham and installing them in a 67 Fairlane 2 dr. That will be a lot of work. The neighbor wanted the old LTD when I was finished til he found out how much I was stripping out. Probably scrap the rest if no one wants it on ebay.
  4. Lets try a different approach. Is it a clean computer? "Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer " http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Don't forget cleaning in safe mode also. Defrag, Disk Clean, etc... Just because you dug it out, does not mean it was not infected or cluttered.
  5. That shouldn't be too hard on gas, at least by old day standards. Nice looking setup.
  6. Yeah I hate those AC boxes getting in the way if they are not to be used. Is the motor pretty much stock inside? Looks pretty much streetable. As an older person, I might have gone one gear ratio towards the gas mileage. We had a guy in highschool with a 440 cu. in. and a 4.68 gear ratio. No one beat him stoplight to stoplight. Or gas station to gas station. And on the highway, even a V.W. Beetle could outrun him.
  7. Nice layout there php. Looks roomy.
  8. Nice car Doomsday. Lets see, a 1972 Impala 4dr., 350 engine, 400 Turbo tranny. Close?
  9. Always test late at night. Is there anything you did different that you know of?
  10. An example:"This Aspire Multi Fan Speed Controller helps keeping noise level down while maximum your cooling capability and give you the ability to take control of your case fans" I am hoping this is a good explanation. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.asp?DEPA=0&type=&Description=fan+controller&Submit=ENE&Ntk=all&N=0&minPrice=&maxPrice=&Go.x=0&Go.y=0
  11. Welcome to the forum mrdrearle What are your advertised speeds? I would think that is pretty good.
  12. Lets start with what your advertised speeds are. And have you checked to make sre you are running a clean computer? "Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer " Just click on the link below if you have not read it yet. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257
  13. "A crop circle in the shape of the Firefox logo has appeared in a wheat field near Amity, Oregon." Yeah, after the farmer spent the last couple hours mowing! Does the Enquirer have any stock or investments in that site? Or maybe Oprah?
  14. Welcome to the forum fordmantpw I hope you enjoy your stay here.
  15. That just about sums it up! "I think the only solution for now is very simple: Never share your computer with your girlfriend." I guess he forgot what PC stands for. "Personal Computer."
  16. Welcome to the forum kdubkelly Nice speeds. Have you tweaked it yet?
  17. That was about 20 years ago, but thanks cholla. I am much more careful now.
  18. I would assume you should figure out exactly what you want it to do. Duo cores mean little for me. But I never intend to game my comp. Any real ideas what you want it to do?
  19. Also turn off your web accelators. If you have any running.
  20. SeD BOB Again what I said in reply #17 in: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=15679.new#new
  21. Welcome to the forum SeD BOB Anything like " 1475.5 % faster than the average for host " is cached. Try cleaning out your temporary files. Tools at the top of your browser*Internet Options*Delete files including Offline Content*OK*OK*test. Or don't hit your back button to retest. Just go to the top and hit "(test again)".
