What would be the bandwidth capacity for Internet Ham Radio? I believe it would be on the level of a dial-up connection. And how could it possibly be World Wide? As radio signals travel they do not curve with the earth. so they dissipate into "Line of Sight" which meant if I broadcast from Chicago, You won't get it from Japan. Without the assistance of A satellite. or hundreds of repeaters around the world....... Think about it.....

No, I believe your getting ur max from your ISP. They give u estimates with those speed packages. Thats why they say "Up to 1.5Mb Download" KeyWord UP. they don't say YOU WILL HAVE 1.5Mb. Anyway bet if you plug ur pc directly to the ethernet port without wireless,, I gaurantee you will get 1.5Mb, 384K.... with wireless u are subject to a little latency. and thats what you might be seeing in those test results......

Well to answer your question in my opinion. The reason why you have a 7.9Mb download or so often,, on a 7Mb plan is because, your ISP bumps up the download speed to insure everyone at least will get the 7Mb speed. It's kinda hard to make the whole network all running at 7Mb. So they factor in a little extra speed just in case your current configuration,connection i.e. etc. Don't quite make it to their advertised speeds. Me for instance. I have a 8Mb plan and always get 8.4Mb download. It's just insurance. Now upload is TOTALLY DIFFERENT!!!! They kinda B.S. you on that. But thats another topic.....

BUT THERE ARE MILLIONS OF MORE DISC TO COME. Hd-Dvd, Blu-Ray, Holographic-Dvd's and so on. who ever can give us more bang for our buck.. Is who's going to sell the most....

JUST THINKING ABOUT YOUR LINK QUALITY. maybe your router is running faster than your usb adapter can handle. Thats why it's only at 77%. Your USB 1.1 can't handle the transfer rate that your Wireless adapter needs. and the speed the router is asking for. thus a weaker LINK QUALITY.

Or you could buy the double layer DVDs that hold 9.4GB of data. I use them to put 2 or 3 movies on one disk. these you can't get at walmart but, prob at a computer/electronics store. I use DVD-Shrink to trim my movies. but i like to keep my resolution. so I take off the extra content and leave the movie only. Regular DVD's like the 4.7GB only hold 2hrs of video. And most store bought dvd's have twice that content on them.

2 me, moziila seems to eat up a lot of system resources when it is running... And the issue to speed. I have not seen a problem other than trying to gain access to certain java enabled websites.

buy a inexpensive off brand router,, something like Airlink,, subsidiary of Netgear. and plug it into your DSL connection. Get some Ethernet cords and plug the pc's and PS2's into the router your all good to go.

Dude that sucks... in the past 2 years i have had a 3Mb/384k 4Mb/384k 6Mb/512k and now a 8Mb/768k connection. I am currently waiting on the new supposedly 10Mb/1Mb connection....
