You can convert every thing in itunes to mp3 or other formats. By going to edit-preferences-advanced-import-make a conversion type-right click on song-covert to what ever you selected in import.

Maybe the burst is to fast for an accurate speed test so it switch's you over for an more accurate one. Like Van says it takes 6-8 sec. for a proper test.

Itunes will do a whole cd at a time. just go to Edit - preferances - advanced - import and choose which format you want to use.
