  1. well JH2688 , I faced that dilemma about 5 years back ,and knowing nowt about puters , 10 builds on without any real problems I can smile about it all , but I will never forget the first build ,(it went OK ) I can't comment on your parts as I am from the UK but I wish we had newegg over here !, anyway between your brother and TMN , you have access to the best help going , but wait for the experts opinion first , regards Roco UK
  2. Yeah , so taking this to it's logical conclusion , maybe I should feel sorry for the bum that steals from me to feed his selfinflicted addiction , as he is helping to support the underprivileged of the world yeah, right ,I see it the same way : no mercy from me,
  3. , I really don't want to appear as an old cynic BUT, "Afghanistan is the world's largest producer of opium" , so OK they turn to subsidised wheat crops etc., and the price of opium rockets due to the shortage , farmers grow the best cash crop they can , and if you were living in relative poverty then which you grow ?, Just my view , but wherever there is a willing buyer , there will be a grower , that applies to all businesses , including Microsoft etc.
  4. Dam, I was trying to keep out of this but I will stick my tuppence worth in , as it was Britain that started all this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freetown#History we tried to do right , but we got it wrong again , As tdawnaz said "in any country where the people have the remotest control over their environment..." I think that is debatable , why do they raise so many children in to what is obviously a no win place ? is it because they have lost all hope ? Yeah, look at the pictures and weep for them , but tears don't provide food and shelter , is there an answer to this problem ,one that is happening is so many places around the world , does providing relief cure the problem ? or does it just move it off the front page for a year or two ,I think sadly that is all that happens in most cases , I guess the big question is, do we have the right to interfere and try to set our standards of living on them , or let them fall back on the survival of the fitest, after all we did in the past ,for me it is all part of evolution , sad as it is ,
  5. Oh lol Bro , there goes my brownie points . I guess you win some and you loose some : Anyway, Happy belated Birthday TDAWNAZ I may have forgoten the Birthday , but not the girl . * Thinks, check the calendar Knuckle head * (Brit insult meaning dim ) and no connection to Harley D. or maybe ? .........................
  6. "magic blue smoke" ? has the pope died , ?, at 16.97v you could read a book in the dark by the power of the panel lights , If that was my box I would run power fan quick , it shows the system volts as well as Temperature ,and has worked well on all the boxes that I have tried it on ,apart from some old Dell laptops ,
  7. anyone notice kevind360's . +12 voltatage reading =16.97 v on the smelling smoke , I just changed a PSU with a stalled fan , hot plastic smell , and the case above it was very hot to touch , yeah, great apl. speed fan ,

I cant add a lot to this, but I have used about 10 Asrock m/b's had a small problem with one , but Asrock cus.services was faultless , gave me a covering letter to give to my supplier who had been reluctant to take the board back , so 9/10 to Asrock from me, Btw your puter is about the same spec as my #2 puter , and does the job ok , lol my #1 computer aint much faster anyway , ( 2.8 athlon xp ) oh , "Amd athlon xp 1800 ", amc11890 if you are interested in selling , im interested , give me a pm , ) i got a good customer/friend /widow, running a 950 Mhz Duron and the board (Asrock ) is good for a 1.8 athlon , Duh thanks Reso.... :lol:but you are right a spare box is very usefull anyone got a Athlon xp going spare/cheap around 1.8 , ? v.hard to find in the uk , regards Roco UK ,

  11. one thing I have got is persistance Coknuc , hope you enjoy photofiltre , there are lots of plugins avaible , I also use another freebie, adobe photodeluxe v3.1 it came with my first scanner from wayback , it seems unobtainable now , yeah, I have Adobe photoshop 8 but I never used it , and took it of my puter , I like free and Kiss programs , so no excuses post up your Mug shots , if you dont like your photo (so you got ears like an elephant or a Dumbo Tat. on your forehead ),grow your hair long or try a bit of mild artistic licence using a image program ,
  12. Hmm, my XP setup is to page file onto a second hard drive , to a partion specially set up just for that, the reason that drive is sitting idle most of the time ,and it lets "C" drive do it's own thing , (My tech term, lol , ) I set the size to 1536Mb min and max , I read somewhere it was quicker that way ? and set the registry entry to -disable paging of aplications and data files = "1" from the default "0" , is it faster , well it seems to be but i got no real proof , but it dosn't seem to do any harm either, ...............
  13. Your wellcome tdawnaz , correction to my post about Photofilre "BTW great image manipulator small and free ," http://www.photofiltre-studio.com/frames-en.htm It's no longer free for ver.9.1 lol I am on ver,6.2.7 , so no update for me planed ,

  16. I think it is about respect and concern about folk that customer could be your sis ,bro, mom , dad aunt , etc. it's about how would you feel in that dire situation , if you cant relate to that , as I said in a previous post "if you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen " find another job , you may make a great rocket scientist but in customer services you are wasting your and our time and good name ,
  17. wow thats bad ,it was OK for me being a 6'2 180lb guy , and in civilized Europe , but I was worried , and feeling sick about the situation ,for years after I need to know exactly where I am going and who I will be meeting , and have all the contact details, I guess I should have sued BA , now I have reached the age that maybe I could get lucky .....again
  18. Tdawnaz ,Water , are we the only sane 3 here , yeah, though I do worry about myself at times , Water I hope your friend returns someday , I guess her confidence is shaken , but with the right friends as I am sure you are she Will return , hey, send her highlights of this thread ,so she can see people really do care , I was in that situation many years ago when my national Airline(BA) dumped me at the wrong airport on my first trip abroad , I was lost, tired and confused , Germaine's state airline came to the rescue , flew me to the right place, phoned the company I was visiting , gave me free hospitality and was concerned about my wellbeing , from that my employer chose Lufthansa as their preferred carrier , 5000 + flights a year in total for the company ) and I never flew BA again , and never will ,
  19. , yeah I understand what you are saying , I was in that industry for 10 years (manufacturing ) as an engineer , I moved into medical research the customer don't complain if ya get it wrong, but their family attornies sure do ,
  20. I am glad I don't use fast food stores sounds like that famous world wide Scottish restaurant Mac........? BTW, old Brit saying ," if you cant stand the heat , get out the kitchen ," it ain't worth the hassle Bro,
  21. :shock:You Guys still using "Act of God clause " , a term avoided in the UK since he was called as a witness in the UK , In this case leaving a female passenger alone in an unknown airport , would be seen as not taking "due care ", and if anything unpleasant had happened to her , that Airline would be dead in the water within 1 month , ATT dumped it's complaining 10 k customers ! , and gave them money , was the service that bad ?, was a analysis made of the complaints , if all 10k complaints were broadly speaking about the same thing , if so ATT are getting complacent or have a monopoly , complaining is not a slippery slope , just a usefull marketing tool IMHO ,
  22. :2funny: , that comes as a bit of a shock first thing in the morning ........... :2funny: *Hmmmmmm maybe Brown is right after all* , lol only kidding
  23. hi elinvesti8 , I am sure as in the past we will get on fine , but I think there will be a drift away from the very close co-operation we have shared in the past , and I think the message being given out in the UK is very demoralising for our military , it seems to be the feeling of the public also , my personal view is maybe we were wrong to start this war , but we cant leave it unfinished , unfortunatly I got to leave this thread as it is 1.30 am , and my free day ,LOL today has evaporated
  24. no you are right , how else can you gain the feelings of the country ? if you have a better way please share,
  25. you could be right there mudmanc, I guess only time will tell on that, Btw, I am Apolitcal , and don't vote, so I am posting the UK view of the situation, G brown is getting bad press in the UK, he was not voted into his position, and as Scotland now refuses to fly the british union flag and has it's own parliment , the English are not happy with this situation of having a scotish Prime minister , and I can see troubled times ahead , more goodbye uncle Sam , hello Dominique de Villepin,
