tommie, do you still work? You have a lot more time for research than I do, seems to me . But good information, I like it.

Probably the only difference is walls for bank shots.

Well guys, there is a fiber cable, phone line (128), natural gas, county water right by the road my driveway goes out to, 150' tops. I can't hook up to any of it. But I just happen to be between 2 Sprint towers about 2 1/2 miles away either direction and are listed as having the latest. I think I'm done in the beginning of May with my Huey contract and my contract is expired with Sprint so I'm researching. Another $300+ for EVDO hmmm.... I wonder how much 14,000 of cable would cost delivered?

Well here are the facts that anyone has to go on, "I currently am on the Small Office plan with an HN7000s modem and a .74m oval DirecWay dish with a 2 watt buck." As for RSL it is the signal and that can vary a little but only drastically if something crosses the signal path. "Rate Code" changing every few seconds, highly unlikely. Before a good diagnosis can be accomplished there are other things that need to be known and you need to know, like driving a car (browsing on the internet) and without knowing how all the controls (your Hughes system) works. 1) http://192.168.0.1/ with give you information about your system kind of like a owners manual. 2) http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html is all the things under the hood of the system. You need to familiarize yourself with the first and the second somewhat, there is information in advanced that my be needed for diagnosis. Speed tests, some of these need to be posted from Hughes or here, TMN. Hughes will only recognize problems from testing done on their site http://customercare.myhughesnet.com/ > lower left "Speed Test" Also your RSL (signal) and ACP will need to be posted, this is your homework for now and the information you can find for us will help us help you. Some more good information can be found here also, http://www.dslreports.com/faq/satellite

Maybe they are listed because they supply some part of your area code or your local area. I think only one needs to be there and the others can lease to get your business.
-
Maybe their all alike. The only way I would is use a router for more than one PC and if the laptop has wireless you can use a wireless router.

If you have the pic and it is say 640x480 just type in a smaller amount. Example if you type in 400 for the 640 the other dimension is automatically produced. You may have to play with this a little to get the exact size but works for me.
-
I take pics from my card and reduce them to 640x480 to email or I can make them smaller than that. If you have a larger pic to start it is easily reduced and the quality is kept, doesn't work enlarging this way. It does it a couple of ways, pixel, image, and canvas.
-
I use Photo Shop to resize all my pics and I need to do is type in the size.

tommie I haven't had a phone line so long I really can't remember much about it but wouldn't something like "speed-dial" be faster than just "dial-up"? [move] [/move]

I can get more heat out of my propane than mapp gas. I have cut 1 inch steel with it. Anyway I don't think I'd waste the gas, just a good shot to the drive should do it, 12 gauge.

It's a good thing there are walls and if this is a single day the walls really help when the sweeper comes through clean for the next clip. It's not as bad as in North Carolina when they get ice. They don't need a tunnel to do this, seems like they just go faster thinking they won't be in the weather as long.

Well after all said and done I can't suggest anything on the problem now but you shop like my wife. Go for one thing and come back with a few bags , but she's my wife.

alicanny, here in this section our cable may only be up to 100 feet long and then ends, try shortening yours and terminating it, see if it works. But welcome to the forum.

Many are hanging on, why I don't really know. Many expensive items people own they don't even think about keeping, they just upgrade. An upgrade also gives you a warranty on the new part (only $50 for a modem) and for the ODU I'm still using mine from the original 4000 install about 6 years ago. I also did some cheap buying for new replacement parts, transmitter, LNB, and dish. I have spent more on one nights dinner for the family and after you eat we all know where it goes. And nobody buys new phones, cars, TV's and so on. I have a older tube type radio and the manufacturer won't give me any help. The most problems I see (the system works but it is not DSL) are a lacking install or poor PC maintenance.

True, but around here the wind can bring plenty of snow at times and I could barely see the road at the time of posting. Now it's time to go out and use the snow blower.

Private, I'm gathering these are your 7000S results. I am satisfied with my Hughes service and always have been since I fist used sat for internet in 1999 and especially now that I no longer have a phone line, literally. Almost everyday I run 2 or 3 spyware programs and I defrag at least twice a week which seems to help keep my test scores up. You can't control how many use the system but you can control how your PC runs. As for uploading what do you think it should be? Here are some of mine from myhughesnet but if the system is working I don't check, its just curiosity, besides, every time you test there many variables.
