  1. I got my first one when I was just going on 50. I could bring you one but I don't think my canoe is big enough.
  2. Roco, Your right on that price, nothing like something to keep you on your toes thinking and then the satisfaction of a thank you smile. Many I know never thought I would be one to use a computer let alone build my own. Well if you break it you fix it.
  3. So what else is going to break down???? And are you now on call in an instant?
  4. Well thats what you pay the big money for..

So welcome to the forum and already trying to help out. Well I guess I just beat the greeter (spammer tommie)
  6. Have many bridges around you tommie, do you?
  7. The problem is as with any other businesses it takes money to get it running and more to keep it going. Where does this come from, investors alone? The 3 year contract is to keep a customer base that is felt to be long enough to keep activity and possibly show a profit and I don't remember any business staying around very long without profit. The reason there aren't many choices is the population density may be too light (not enough business) and a high cost per home to provide service. This is something that you live with where your at. The grass seems to always look greener on the other side. I myself would research and see if there is anything better coming in the 2 years and if not and I need more than dial-up sign up for the 3. I believe they (xplornet) are still trying and probably learning too.It could be 5 years before something better and you finally broke down after 4 and sign up, now you then have to go 2 years while something better is here, now.
  8. tommie, the 6000's are no longer getting any upgrades in software and NOC maintenance so your very safe in doing that. DW7000's may be at that point too, I've not checked on that in a few months but the HN7000S is ongoing and it is best not to shut downunless your away from home (trip) i would for home safety, a reboot, OK .I'm not a Hughes tech but just an accumulation of what I have read.
  9. Just a possibility , I'm haven't done any port forwarding , but maybe your PC's need to be redone also, new boss in town, Linksys router.
  10. Wow, I would have to say that was a plush toilet, notice the cushioning around it. All I can say is don't put a camera in the one way glass in front of it , what a strain.
  11. That will be more than your left foot brakin.
  12. I once had this mean rooster that had to keep getting rebooted before correcting itself. He eventually got the idea who was boss after getting rebooted (kicked) half a dozen times in 2 minutes. The start of this mass rebooting was that he drew first blood., but no apologies.
  13. Are you sure there wasn't one put out by "Freezer Queen"
  14. That would work but remember gun safety. There was a clip but that was about destroying your old drives important information. Maybe the fireplace, possibly wood work for extra heat.
  15. Keep your chin up, very good
  16. That's good but how about the PC?
  17. beggsr, Welcome Read here and it may help http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13545
  18. Well if you ever graduate to the better multimedia ones you'll have a little shaving of information now.
  19. upsurfer, I have no idea what could be wrong here, it's a process of elimination. First off if you upgraded and didn't get a new power supply that could cause it. Has been noted to happen numerous times and was the last item checked many times. More information is needed about your HN7000S system, longitude, receive frequency, ACP and Signal Strength.
  20. You seem to have a problem here. More information is needed about your HN7000S system, longitude, receive frequency, ACP and Signal Strength.
  21. You can can optimize all you want but the throughput for self hosted systems should only go up to or near your plan max when there is limited use on your transponder. As traffic increases the speed tends to slow. No one knows how much traffic there is at any given time. I haven't done any tweaks other than the usual daily cleaning and weekly defrag since I decommissioned my DW4000. The normal maintenance seems to work best for me to keep my speeds up.
  22. Could not connect: I don't think anything serious, just happens sometimes as far as I know. Maybe retry. I just tried the speed test and got that message, something with the server, batteries low?
  23. tommie For you the trick will cost nothing from me. Be careful where you do this though. Now on each side of the razr are usually 2 buttons, push them in. Now you can remove the old and add new for just one media or one thats does multimedia, I guess it's just preference. [move]Be sure to keep it in a safe place for standby right alongside your shaving cream.[/move]
  24. Maybe history will somehow repeat itself here. For years the money had been good here and some do use barter But then a new group showed up with a another system totally different Ah, the Europeans were here with the goods and the Wampum was out pushed by the dollar. Now is it the euro going to take control again
  25. ebay go to www.ebay.com and there are on-line auctions. Some on-line vendors (stores) allow you to use paypal to pay for items. To add your cards just go to the paypal site and log in. From there you can find the links need to add your cards.
