Regardless you need to show up or your in trouble and if you did nothing wrong you have nothing to fear, besides it's their game and you'll have to answer their questions.

Good, well done dlewis23. I can't say the same since I've noticed the past 10 years I've been losing speed, but that's another story. At one point though, about 7 years ago, I thought I had a chance of DSL with Bell Atlantic, but Verizon took over and with that all hopes went. As of now many in my neighborhood don't even have working phone lines. But we have cell phones although no WISP in the area.

Since the contract is continuing along with payment it's foolish not to use it no matter how bad it seems to work. I feel a well set up sat system no matter who's should work better than dial-up. And I almost forgot with all the PM's welcome to the forum.

$849.99 and you'll get it.

Looks like you have the DW7000 Pro Plan. I think a static IP is $10 or $20 more, not sure. I know for The 7000S it is $10.
-
I thought about it and thought about for almost 6 months when I got a notice to upgrade to DW7000 for $199.99 or $49.99/15month sign up. My sentence will be up in a few months and still no other ISP options seen in this years' or next years' future. My ODU is old, but then again some say I am too. 'S

I have a couple of Antec power supplies and they are super quite. Here is a 550 I found you may want to check out http://shop1.outpost.com/product/4653878?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

Your probably right on the bogus somewhat but I have noticed that those 2 seconds spurts are just right for loading pages when browsing but probably do nothing for file transfer. It makes my browsing really seem snappy and we need to look at things for what they really are and not what we think they should be.

I have a large corner desk and in one section I have a extra key board and pullout tray, some screws and small screw drivers in the tray and my grandson uses that only. Only 3 now and he has used that one only over a year now. I guess you still need to keep your eye on them

Help a senior to move from dial-up to satellite
granpa replied to papapaul's topic in General Discussion
papapaul, I got your message and PM'd you back. Any more questions just ask and we'll do our best. -
Don't worry about the English, after over half a century I'm still trying to learn it. Good speeds though, I have been happy with the DW7000 also.
-
Personally I'd get a different serve, had bad service with them.
-
luisdarisa welcome, I see your on G11 also, I was at 990 until I upgraded to my DW7000 and they bumped me up to 1370. It works very well now, actually seems much steadier since the upgrade.

Thanks mogramjo, Your always a pleasure to read and elusive too. I see you signed in and next your gone so off I go surfing and when I come back you've already been back and gone again. From what I have read I don't think there are any tweaks other than more money for more speed, but thanks for the help, I'll read on. lately my uploads have dropped a little but the other side has jumped up making snappier browsing. Another question, what is this (__)? My PC experience started in 1998 when I bought my first PC and had to read the manual to find the start button. Messed that one up many many times. I also got my first big satellite dish that spring and I still use it. A few months I got a call from Hughes for DirecPC One-Way and a PCI modem. Thats when I caught the "tech virus". Downloading seemed instantaneous then using sat. Now 3 PC's here and built by me. Got to get back to hunting and fishing, cheaper.

I have a question, what are tweaks and where do I get them? If it helps I wouldn't mind trying to see how fast this old equipment will download. :::.. mogramjo, tommie, All fresh food, I guess you could say it's in the can when it's being cooked. The game was taken on Saturday on what we call "Hunting Day". That night all the game is brought in and there are two teams, Young Men and Old Men. The only difference is a young man has no kids, so one could be 70, which I have seen. Captains start counting one at a time and as each piece is brought out the other team has to match it. One point for rabbit, pheasant, turkey may be 5 but I have forgotten, but a deer is 50 points. The score this year 65 old men, 8 young men. The losing team has to skin since they didn't work as hard. The best part is that since now most everyone is busy all year it gets them together to end a year and start a new year.

mogramjo Inlet, isn't that where the boats come in? I could be wrong though, if your landlocked. I hardly ever loose my satellite connection, slower but steady. Right at midnight many around here fire off their guns :ar15fire:to note the start of the new year.. Not a bad new year so far, got to 52 degrees here but the ground is saturated from all the rain we have been having. We have a community feast at noon so I went to eat this afternoon with the grandkids and their parents. We had rabbit pie, venison, something they called ham, mashed potatoes/gravy, squash, beans, corn bread (not the yellow corn) and I finished with cherry pie and coffee.

I'll just stay here north of Buffalo, NY, a cool 51 degrees right now. If it dries out I may have to cut the lawn again. No hurricanes, no tornadoes, only used my snowblower 3 times last winter and most of all no naked guys on skis around here. [move] Warning Don't eat the yellow Snow [/move]

Good to hear from you mogramjo, Have some fun on this forum and get good information too. Have only 3 gran kids, 5,3 and 2 months. The 3 yr old is my granpaw's boy. I like the membership tag they give us, Sr. Member. Got to drop out for a few minutes to check my fire and make some coffee. Got to keep wood in my stove, just an old habit I guess.
