  8. hey mklou and welcome to the forum quote from http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml " HOW TO SET THE PROPER NIC DUPLEX SETTINGS: Win98/ME: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network. * From the scrollable list, select your Ethernet adapter (rather than any dial-up) with a green icon. * Click the button Properties. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT. * In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or ( at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI. * Click OK to exit the Adapter settings. * Click OK all the way out - you might need to restart. Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections. * Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection. * Right-click that icon and select Properties. * Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. 11. then you go back to the last value that worked best i told you to reduce the value in 1440 steps, so if previous value was faster then use it VanBuren
  12. we goin the right way, it was abit faster downstream now change TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize in steps of 1440 until you see the speed getting slower the value you should try now is 30240-1440 = 28800 and the next 28800-1440 = 27360 and the next 27360-1440 = 25920 and so on remember this always click save to registry after you changed the values, and after that always reboot good luck VanBuren
  13. no problem your not far away from the cap, we aim for 90% of advertised and thats 1350 Kbps for you, cos of TCP overhead of approx 10 % so this will need some finetuning try this change TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize to 30240 click save to registry and reboot check speed again with same testfile size both up and down VanBuren
  14. download this attached file (Cable & DSL 1500 384.zip ), unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry, in top left corner click file, load custom settings file, browse to C:ProgramCablenut and dubble click on the file you unzipped. now click save to registry and reboot check speed again, use the 2992 KB testfile for download and 1496KB testfile upstream, also make a new tweaktest and post result good luck VanBuren
  15. run this test http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks copy and paste result URL adress in your post! 18. Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 7.70Mb/s running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 7.83Mb/s The slowest link in the end-to-end path is a 10 Mbps Ethernet subnet click START to re-test VanBuren
  19. no problem, keep visiting and tell your friends about this site VanBuren
  20. hey mrkoko and welcome to the forum follow these steps and post again https://testmy.net/topic-2097 VanBuren
  21. 24% ??? 220 / 256 = 0,859375 x 100 = 85,9 % of download cap and 45 / 64 = 0,703125 x 100 = 70,3 % of upload cap then add 10% tcp overhead and your up to 95,9 % down and 80,3 % up there is nothing more to do you can try changing duplex setting to half duplex and see what happens, if speed slow down, change back VanBuren
  22. thanks for the tip Cholla, but i already suggest 2 well known good spycleaners in the list, i try to reduce the list as much as i can, but somehow it just growing lol Im open for suggestions to change the list, if i can see in a review that eg spyware blaster is better then Ad_aware and spybot S&D VanBuren
