must be a firewall issue, make sure to allow DC++ on a certain port and set that port in DC setup. VanBuren

usually i dont get this fast speed, most ppl dosent tweak. my average speed downloading from 100 Mbps users is around 30 Mbps cos they using default TCP settings and im limited by that. and your right im just posting this to show off VanBuren

in your share tab, set uploadslots to atleast 3, alot of hubs has rules so you wont be able to connect if you dont share 3 slots. Also share as much data you can, then you can join better hubs. Also in settings--->advanced set "Automaticly search for alternative download locations" so if your downloading a file and get disconnected from that user, the DC++ will find another user to download that file. To join a hub, just click on Public Hublist and you will see many hubs listed, just click on them. try setting your IP to this VanBuren

Need info for CableNut Upload cfg. (Intermittent)
VanBuren replied to MUff1N's topic in Make it Faster...
no problem what kinda uploadspeed and downloadspeed do you get now? i could only find 3 scores from your IP, fastest at 44 Kbps thats very good you need to add TCP overhead to that approx 7 to 10% so the true speed is around 48 Kbps VanBuren -

VanBuren replied to MUff1N's topic in Make it Faster...
you can try lowering the DefaultSendWindow i suggest you start at 8192 and then add 1024 in steps so the next value to test is 8192+1024 = 9216 and the next 9216 + 1024 = 10240 good luck VanBuren -
thats very good speed, add 10% TCP overhead on that upload and your at 1868,9 Kbps, not far away... you can try finetune the DefaultSendWindow but my guess is that your maxed out VanBuren

great here is a guide how to set NIC http://dslnuts.com/tips_tricks.shtml quote "HOW TO SET THE PROPER NIC DUPLEX SETTINGS: Win98/ME: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network. * From the scrollable list, select your Ethernet adapter (rather than any dial-up) with a green icon. * Click the button Properties. * Click the tab Advanced to bring it to the front: * In the Property box, the property name to be selected varies according to model of ethernet card. Examples are: Network Link Selection, Media Type, Connection Type, Duplex Mode, or any similarly-named property which can have Values looking like Auto-Negotiation, or 10BT, or 10BaseT. * In the Value box, select a value which either (a) explicitly says half-duplex or semi-duplex, or ( at least does not say full-duplex [e.g. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. If there is a choice between 10 and 100 with half-duplex, choose the 10. Do not choose 10Base5, 10Base2, or AUI. * Click OK to exit the Adapter settings. * Click OK all the way out - you might need to restart. Windows 2000 or XP: to change to half-duplex: * Open Control Panel. * Double-click Network and Dial-up Connections. * Identify the icon for your cable modem connection: usually Local Area Connection. * Right-click that icon and select Properties. * Under the ethernet adapter icon, click the button Configure. 10BaseT on its own is OK]. hey thacery and welcome to the forum those red hops probl block ICMP traffic, so you cant see the actual loss since you havent changed settings, it probl is a problem in one of those red hops. check speed against other sites aswell http://e2epi.internet2.edu/ndt/ndt-server-list.html VanBuren

I agree, what you can try is increasing the DefaultSendWindow load the verizon 5/2 DHCP fios file and just change DefaultSendWindow from 128000 to 256000 now click save to registry and reboot also if you have a router, set your NIC to 100 Mbps full duplex if you connect direct to modem, try 10 Mbps half duplex VanBuren
