When there is a candidate whose alleged religion and beliefs happen to coincide with those of a people and country with which OUR country is at war, the people tend to ignore that.

I'm glad you can't remove my name from your post because that was your opinion and you are free to express it. But if you read my posts a little more carefully, you will see that I said things like "I just didn't want people to jump to conclusions without knowing that those e-mails have been circulating for awhile now and there is only partial truth in them." and "This country has not yet evolved enough to accept a black president." So please understand that I was neither bashing nor supporting the man. And when I said "I really enjoy the e-mails about how we shouldn't vote for him because he's a devout Muslim and will destroy America and the ones like that talking about the Church of Christ he belongs to be radical and racist. Let's make up our minds. Is he Muslim or does he worship Christ? " that was sarcasm. I don't enjoy those e-mails at all but I do find a bit of humor in the conflicting statements.

I said I'd vote Republican in the hopes that Clinton and Obama both lose and maybe their supporters will open their eyes to why. And btw, I wasn't the one who started those e-mails that are circulating right now so don't blame me for trying to "find a dishonest or discrediting attribute for a democrat such as Obama". I was merely commenting on the e-mails themselves.

Sounds like Bill Cosby, but that doesn't make him a good candidate for president. Every citizen of this country is free to enjoy the same type of education that was available to me. I went through the public school system and received my high school diploma. I also worked 7 days a week (after school til 9 P.M. and 9-9 Saturdays and Sundays) from the age of 15 until I graduated at 18. Why? because my parents didn't have the money and told me that if I wanted anything more than food and a roof over my head that I better get a job. I worked for the money to buy my first car but they wouldn't allow me to drive it until I paid for the insurance too. I graduated with a 3.95 GPA (on a 4 point system) and had perfect attendance my senior year. I went to tech school to learn a trade after high school and supported myself by working after school and on the weekends there, too. Was it because I am white and received special treatment? Or was it because I applied myself? I think the latter. I don't buy all the "the government should help me because....." bullshit. I DO, however, believe in working hard for what you want.

I know she was serious, but women didn't have the legal right to vote and most black men were afraid to, fearing for their lives if they showed up at the polls. So, effectively, she had to win the majority of votes cast by white men. Sadly, that wasn't going to happen in America in 1870.

Case in point-----Oprah Winfrey. On her show, she is the champion of women's equality. She always wants what's best for women. Always supports women in whatever they choose to do. But when a white woman runs against a black man for president, who does she throw her support behind? Hillary Clinton, the first female candidate for president in the history of this fine country? Not just no, but HELL NO!! Sorry sister, but there's a brother running for the same job. That's why I said what I said. Whites and blacks alike make it all about race and very little about what the candidates stand for. I refuse to be a part of that bullshit. And DO NOT try to upgrade the firmware for a Linksys wireless router unless the computer you are using is HARDWIRED to the wireless router. You probably know that, Tim, but I thought I'd mention it for future readers. BTW, I upgraded the firmware in my WRT54GS and didn't have to "hold the reset button located on the back of the router for 30 seconds".

I'm assuming everything is wireless. Or do you have anything hard-wired to the router that also loses connection at the same time as everything else? Also, have you searched the Linksys website for help? Microwaves and cordless phones can play hell with your wireless signals.

I've always felt that PC and laptop purchases should really be left to the buyer as it depends more on personal preferences and intended use. My brother wasted $2200 on a laptop that does everything but have sex with him, and all he really uses it for is music downloads and an occasional online game. Make a list of the things you want the laptop to do, and then go shopping. BTW, I use http://www.xe.com/ for exchange rates.

Maybe I'm wrong, but don't you need an instant messenger service in order to use a webcam? What model camera is it? The IP address of the router can be found in the router's control panel. Open a browser window and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press enter. You will have a user name and password window pop up. Leave the user name blank and enter "admin" (without the quotation marks) as the password. This is the default password for Linksys routers. When the control panel opens, the setup page will be open and you can see your router's IP address.
