  1. Thanks for the input, gents. I thought it odd that it happened so suddenly and now I know why. I'll just stick with TMN since I have had the most consistently accurate results here.
  2. Has anyone else experienced this? Since about the middle of September, speedtest.net has shown me results like this compared to TMN's tests. And IIRC, the TMN server is in Dallas and the other is in Houston where I live. I have Comcast's 6000/384 package, btw.
  3. :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 7328 Kbps about 7.33 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 895 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 363 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 579 kB) Upload Speed is:: 44 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/10/21 - 5:49am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-ESAL93T50 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-8GUKOP2YH User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.04506.30) [!] If they did raise the upload, that haven't raised it in Houston yet. I've had the 3000/384, 5000/384 and now the 6000/384 packages over a span of almost 4 years now.
  4. I actually had speed drops, both up and down, after installing cablenut. Not saying it's a bad program, just didn't work for me. And I have nothing but bad things to say about Comcast. Their service is terrible and their customer service is nonexistent. They scheduled a service call for last Tuesday between 2 & 5. I called Sunday morning and informed them that they should actually check with me before scheduling since I have to work until 6 and would not be home by 5. They told me they would reschedule for 5-8. The next day someone else called at 10 P.M., waking me up, to confirm my appointment for "tomorrow between 2 & 5". I explained again that I would not be home at that time and that I had already rescheduled for a later time. She made the notes and assured me that it would be taken care of. When I called at 5 the next day, I was told that the technician was there at 2:11 P.M. but no one was home to let him in. Imagine that!!
  5. Maybe I'm a little slow (maybe? that's a good one, Phil!) but where do we go to see how many members there are currently?
  6. Put me down for September 13, 2007. That a very special day for me.
  7. Because there is nothing to win. We didn't go to Iraq with a real purpose. If we wanted to find WMD's, we wouldn't have advertised on CNN that we were coming for the 2 months before it began, giving them plenty of time to move the to Iran and Syria. Anyone remember what Saddam Hussein's favorite TV channel was? I'll give you a hint. It began with a C and ended with an N.
  8. I hope CA3LE's wounds are nothing more than superficial and that he gets back on a bike very soon. I've lived in Texas most of my life so I never rode a bike. People here can't see a red, full-sized Jaguar coming up in the lane next to them so I know that won't see me on TWO wheels. Little prayer for him has been said, tdawnaz.
  9. I'd read posts on Logitech's forums first. You'll find lots more info there, I think. http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php?p_new_search=1&p_search_text=harmony+670
  10. Not on holiday, just preoccupied with a female who got the better of me. No real damage, just emotional. Moved on and moved better. Great to be back, though. How you been, Roco?
  11. President Bush was born on July 6, 1946, in New Haven, Connecticut. He's not a Texan he's a Texas oilman. That's the kind of president you don't want. If you don't want high gas prices, don't put an oilman in charge of them. If you don't want high seafood prices, don't elect a fisherman... etc, etc.

  13. Well, she's not an alien, but I have been occupied lately. I can't get on at work since January, because of this damn "Websense" blocker they have. Pisses me right off! But I'll be on when I can. Good to see you guys are still here! LOL

And it's STILL $3 a month cheaper than Roadrunner or Comcast.
  15. How do you get to this Smart Bro test? This is what I get from the 12 meg test at testmy.net: :::.. 16. tdawnaz is cool, but I don't think I WANT to know what goes through water's head.
  17. I hear ya. I've also been known to just walk out of a store instead of standing in a long line. Especially when the brain donor at the front of the line has to ask twice what the total is before he/she decides to get out the checkbook and start writing. And I NEVER shop the day after Thanksgiving. Good deals......probably. Major fu**ing headache.......most definitely.
  18. [move] [/move] Happy birthday, CA3LE!!! And thanks for such a great website!!
  19. I normally don't laugh at people getting hurt, but that was freakin' hilarious!
  20. Did you have problems with the Linksys router that caused you to replace it? I have the same one and have no problems. No Earthlink's 5000/384 package: :::.. 21. Thanks, dlewis. Didn't even think of that. But it worked, of course.
  22. I have to agree with George Carlin here and (really hate to do this) disagree with you. If you vote, you have no right to bitch. You elected the assholes, it's your fault. I didn't vote, I didn't want them so I CAN bitch about them. Not aimed at anyone in particular, just a general "you".
  23. Is anyone else having this problem? No matter which theme I choose, all I get is this:
