What u think about the NEWS section ?
organ_shifter replied to just-'s topic in Ideas to make testmy.net better?
The news section is cool. It's pretty informative now, and I'm sure it will only get better as time goes on. -
Man, that was super funny. Once I started laughing, I couldn't stop! I had to right-click save it.

Nice scores Toasthead. Welcome to the best site on the net, "Testmy.net". .s1, FIOS is so close to you that's it's not even funny. I know you're on the edge of your seat just knowing that any day now you could receive a brochure/letter stating that it's FIOS time. I would be so damn impatient!

Before a few months ago, IE is all you knew. As a matter of fact, you downloaded FF with IE and sometimes has to go back to IE because FF is not that internet friendly. Barely a handful of developers design their products with FF in mind. IE7 will be next generation browsing at it's best. Please believe it. -

ActiveX is not that big of a problem now, but hackers will be hard pressed to expose IE7 in a few more months. FF will be the main target since it's browser popularity keeps it right behind IE. You have a little more time to reconsider your choice though. Walk towards the light...it's safer over here. And yes netmasta...It's on! -

Not only will IE7 surpass FF in features, but it will be way secure also. Netscape's new browser needed to be patched only hours after it's debut (not a good start for security). Certain vulnerabilities are excuted through malicious code when surfing the internet, so I'd prefer my browser to be as secure as possible. Once IE7 incorporates SP2's protection along with security features built exclusively for it, no other browser will come close. The minute 4% of market share that FF holds now will have an end result of mabey 1% (varying irregularly, if that). No matter how secure a computer might appear to be, having an few anti-spyware programs won't detect a true virus. A good anti-virus program will be required. If you don't have one, run a scan, and you might be surprised. -

IE would sweep the results for what browser most people use. Although, with IBM Backing Firefox in-house, it's going to be tougher for MS to take FF down this summer. -
It's seems to be either the CMOS battery or mabey your power supply is having a hard time keeping everything juiced up. What is the wattage of your PS and does your video card receive extra juice from the power supply via an additional power connector?

Thxz PHP. I was hoping one of you guys (mods) would pick it up. I really don't think that the page needs to be colorful or overloaded with flash objects. I just need a fast page with all the things I like in one spot. This is just a start. Google will definitely add more features for the end user to fool around with.
-
It doesn't give me an option to make it a poll when I enter modify. I like it also. Adds a little spice to google, all while remaining super fast.

Definitely sounds like a CMOS battery problem. I don't think that there is a half way point for your BIOS. Either it's working or it's not (no in between). You bios doesn't just become corrupt out the blue,

Google introduces personalized home pages Google's home page is about to get a face-lift. In what appears to be a broadside aimed at My Yahoo, Google rolled out a new feature on Thursday that lets people set up a personalized Google home page. The feature, which has not yet been named, lets people with Gmail and other Google accounts create a home page with different modules that they can drag and drop across their page, giving them one place to go for e-mail, headlines, weather reports, maps, movie schedules and, of course, Web search. Google officials presented the introduction as another step in the company

SpeedTweaker, if you used Alcohol 120% to make an exact copy of your original disc, then you have an official backup. You should be able to do a fresh install or whatever you want with the disc now. There is no difference between the discs but appearence.

Hey moonlancer, that is a cached test-meaning that somehow the test is stored within your temporary internet files from your last run. So, when you ran the test again, it blazed straight through and returned that result since the data was already there.

That's pretty cool. I didn't see all of the other designs before 2004. Nice! A lot of the links don't have the images, but the ones you get to see are awesome. Ca3le has been doing his thing. EDIT: Picture added I even posted a vote...

Sometimes you want to use your own typed out sig that's heavy on the text side instead of a graphic or sigx but, with the 255 character limit, it's not possible. What do you guys think? Here is an example of what I'm talking about. With the links and code, a simple signature like this one is 1005 characters. TheoryShare |

Use Alcohol 120% or Nero to copy the CD and it will be bootable. I've backed mine several times this way and I'm 100% sure about Alcohol 120% as it will copy anything and not care about copy protection. You can download SP2 for free from MS here: Service Pack 2 (this copy is larger than the update from microsoft, but it only installs what you need). If your original Windows XP CD is damaged to the point of not being able to complete a successful copy or allow you to create an iso, there is always MiniNova.org

Wow, 6 straight post in 10 minutes. I don't think anyone had a chance to respond. Nintendo really excites you huh? JK Edit: Console doesn't look bad though.

What exactly do you use you computer for mostly? If you do any gaming or graphic editing, that monitor would not be a good choice. Most LCD monitors (no matter the brand or latest model) don't perform very well at all. You should always go with a CRT monitor. If space is a factor...do what you need to.

Port 80 is normally a very much needed Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP, World Wide Web, RFC 2616). It's possible that Verizon uses a proxy server that it's customers connect through.
