  1. Here is a chart of many connections and what they are capable of obtaining. Very informative breakdowns are included at the bottom. This chart dates as far back as 1880, during a time when William Wheeling patented a method of light transfer called
  2. This is right on time. Seeing all the "one word" posts lately were getting out of hand. A section like this will keep users focused, and the general forum will stay tidy and informative. It took some time for me to reach the 200 post mark (let alone 220) with authentic replies/starts, only to see a bunch of silly threads smack the hell out of good readers, and knocking them off the main page. This will do the forum a great justice! Big ups! 1
  3. Xbox 360 will have "Three symmetrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each", which is more than enough power to push any game.
  4. Here is a link to upcoming game releases: Xbox 360, also here: GameSpot If you click on Madden NFL 06, the Xbox 360 page for it comes up showing screenshots (Click them to advance to screenshot page). On the right, you can click on the regular Xbox link and then view the Madden06 screenshots for it. The difference in quality is amazing. Those cinematics shots look almost as good as ones you see on the PC.
  5. If I remember correctly, a lot of those programs tend to alter your "ntoskrnl.exe" file located inside of C:WindowsSystem32. Be sure to back that file before executing any of those programs. I learned the hard way a few years back. Tampering with that file can be vital to your system. It's not as simple as putting the pictures within a certain folder to get your system to use them at boot. Here is the link to a program that supposedly does it without hacking the system: BootSkin After you get the program, you can get additional skins here: BootSkin Gallery
  6. Right click on the icon in the taskbar, and select configure. Go to the Advanced tab and move the CPU Usage Percent accordingly. In the screenshot, you can see where I have mine set. That takes up about 16% cpu usage. I don't think that you can set it up to release the cpu automatically when you start another program. You will have to configure it to a lower percent usage.
  7. Well, where does everyone stand on the subject now? Are there any changes of opinion?
  8. Welcome to the forums jelwell. Enjoy your stay. I've had so many mishaps when posting on forums. Sometimes I click preview, and the page does what it wants (gets stuck). I press the back button, but all info is gone. Pressing the forward button results in a session timeout message (sometimes
  9. Gotta roll with the Pistons.
  10. ekbal19, what are you advertised speeds? That is a nice upload, which makes me wonder if your download should be alot faster.
  11. Mozilla is still currently having problems. Users beware. Mozilla Firefox 1.x with all vendor patches installed and all vendor workarounds applied, is currently affected by one or more Secunia advisories rated Extremely critical Full report here: Mozilla Firefox 1.x - Vulnerability Report
  12. AMD Athlon XP Processor Specifications Model Number Operating Frequency (MHz) Nominal Voltage Max Die Temperature 1500+ 1333 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius 1600+ 1400 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius 1700+ 1467 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius 1800+ 1533 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius 1900+ 1600 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius 2000+ 1667 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius 2100+ 1733 1.75V 90 Degrees Celsius
  13. Be sure to place the thermal sensor next to the cpu, and not directly on top of it. The cpu sits almost center (or sometimes dead center, depending on the design), so tape the sensor to the left or right side of it. That will give you a more accurate temperature. Placing it directly on top of the cpu will lower the chances of effective cooling, which would, in turn, cause you to run hot. Is that 95 degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit? Fahrenheit would mean that you are running great temps.
  14. Was having a bad day until I read this thread. Thxz .s1 for a good laugh man. I don't even wanna know destructionfever's true advertised speeds. Just the bold title of the thread along with the comeback was enough.
  15. Cached test,,,hands down. We all know this.
  16. I still play Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, but Swat 4 has taken over as the most realistic FPS on the market. Nothing run -n- gun about it. SWAT 4 Info
  17. You can login from any computer. They? Does that mean this is not your connection?
  18. Those are nice speeds, but who are they supposed to belong to? Did you login when you tested, because your username is not showing up on the validation page. Therefore, these results could belong to anyone.
  19. Check your PM Indestructable. I forgot to add a subject. I've been up all night working on some things (8:38am here and I'm sleepy )
  20. That's a cached test. Been seeing alot of those posted lately. Trying clearing your browser cache before testing. If that doesn't work, the server of the mirror could be down for maintenance.
  21. If you use a program that deletes data and overwrites it with a certain pattern (like 7 passes or more), then it would be a slim chance. But the way windows deletes data isn't hardly that at all. Your chances of recovering your photos is very likely. If that program doesn't work, we'll find another. EDIT: When you run the program, it's going to create a folder there. Open the folder and execute "Restoration.exe".
  22. Yes, there are several programs out there of that calibur. Give me a few minutes to search for a few good ones, and I'll post back. EDIT: OK, here is a program found from the initial search. It's free and supposedly does what it says. It's freeware too. Follow this link: Restoration Program Edit 2: (I think it will even recover the photos from the camera itself)
  23. This is the best possible news I could've received, and by telling me that this could happen by September is the icing on the cake. Whatever you do, don't stop posting fantastic information like this. I wonder what other cable companies are going to do to keep up, so that they don't look too ancient?
  24. An old trap rekindled in hopes of infecting unsuspecting, casual, surfers. Beware How You Google
  25. Hey s1, your experience is making national news man. I found this story on a couple of websites already. Now the world will know how much of an idiot this fool is. The coverage can be found at World Greatest Hacker and Greatest Hacker in the WORLD!
