  1. Internet Explorer all day long. Any browser can be exploited/attacked. Your system's security applications make the biggest difference. Firefox isn't any more safe than IE6 SP2/IE7. It has been hit hard on several occasions and many articles have been written on its flaws as well. Internet Explorer is a massive fish in a very small pond, and it'll continue to be that way as long as Microsoft keeps stomping out the competition. When you have the #1 spot, getting targeted with hate far more frequently just comes with the territory. It seems that more than half the people who announce how much they despise IE/M$ don't even know why themselves. They just decided to jump on the anti-Microsoft bandwagon. Some people claim to know the code of the browser while others just carry on about ineffectual nonsense. Like resopalrabotnick stated, "Switch because you like the features of another browser."

  3. Not sure on the drivers, but you will need codecs. Download/Install Kazaa Lite Codec Pack: K-Lite Codec Pack 2.72 Full Note: I would only make Media Player Classic the default player of Matroska & QuickTime formats.
  4. Yeah .s1, Adobe Photoshop is one of the best imaging apps on the market. Corel (Jasc) Paint Shop Pro X is another great one. I normally use them both. SnagIt is mainly used for taking screenshots, but it does so much more (check the attachment ). It's starts with Windows (optional) and is always running. The editor is an included utility that allows me to edit photos quickly. It's gets the job done. I like it. Adobe & Corel's solutions have way more features than SnagIt Editor. I haven't had the time to try them on Vista yet. Thxz Supreme 1.
  5. SnagIt Editor works pretty good. There are several imaging programs available which will do the job properly.
  6. I recommend: Symantec's Norton Partition Magic 8.0 (PowerQuest version if possible) Acronis Disk Director Suite Paragon Partition Manager 7.0 Either of the above programs will work just fine. Note: I didn't see a trial for Norton's solution on their site, but it may be offered somewhere else. Acronis & Paragon does offer a free trial on the product page.
  7. I use SnagIt for my screens. Haven't used Print Screen on Vista because that's the key I have mapped to the application. It overrides the paste function when pressed.
  8. Create a Shortcut for Flip 3D Would you like to add a shortcut to your desktop or quick launch bar that launches the new Flip 3D tab replacement? 1. Right click on your desktop and select New and then Shortcut. 2. Copy and paste RunDll32 DwmApi #105 into the location box and hit Next. 3. Enter in a name for your shortcut and hit Finish. 4. Copy/Cut/Drag or Paste your new shortcut where ever you want. More of this at: TweakVista
  9. That's why you should install Vista on a separate partition/hard drive. If you don't like it, you'll always have the option to format.
  10. If it burns on DVD-RAM discs, I'm sure DVD-R's will be OK. Take a look at the packaging. or Search for the brand/model/specs at the following link and see what the info is. http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters.php?DVDnameid=1471&Search=Search&list=2#comments
  11. What edition is the key allowing to be installed? Windows Vista Business Windows Vista Enterprise Windows Vista Home Premium Windows Vista Home Basic Windows Vista Ultimate
  12. Of course the current one is better. There are no drawbacks when compared to yor previous card.
  13. Download Everest free edition from the following link, install it, run it, and click on summary from the left control panel. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 Do you know what core your processor has? What's the technical name on the box? EDIT: Actually, once you start the program, click on Motherboard and then CPU. Under the CPU Properties, look and see if the Instruction Set has x86-64 listed (see pic).
  14. Yep rotoruda, that came from this article: http://www.testmy.net/articles/article-628 (always good to see members reading the news )
  15. It's all good man. I just didn't want it to open any doors. When someone gets it installed, post a pic of system properties to show what version your personal keys are allowing to be installed.
  16. I'm not sure on the time limit, but cracks are not to be discussed here.
  17. You can order the Windows Vista Beta 2 and RC1 DVD kits from the following link. Scroll the page half way down and you'll see it. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx EDIT: Directly below the order information, you will need to follow the Download Windows Vista Beta 2 to get your key. The key you enter determines what version of Vista installs on you system.
  18. I'm not sure what the information bar is. Would it be the status bar you can enable under View? EDIT: Shug is right. It's the yellow bar.
  19. It'll work from DAEMON Shug. That's how I use to install the 2004 Longhorn and beta1 versions of Vista. After creating a different partition, most of the install took place right from Windows. Once the system rebooted, the install must have had all of the necessary files needed to continue on the partition already. I can't remember if it picked up right before the welcome screen or not, but it did work. It forces a dual boot with XP though. I burn the .iso to a DVD now, but before the burner, that was my only choice. I use 5384.4 as my main OS and it's great. Everything that I need for daily use works better than average. I've also attached a tweak guide for Vista. It's not my work and I forgot where I picked it up from (x64bit.net, Flexbeta, or TweakVista), but it works great when you know what you're doing.
  20. Until you get the data cable working, you can try the following website. You will need to sign up for an account and confirm the phone is yours by entering the confirmation number sent to the registered mobile device. The "Public Gallery" from the left navigation panel allows you to search for and transfer free ringtones, wallpapers, etc. directly to your phone without the need of the cable. It comes in the form of a text message with instructions on how to download the file. The site also has pay stuff. http://www.funformobile.com/ It's a great site, but I have my own solution below. The main way I like to send ringtones to my phone is through a program titled "Xingtone Ringtone Maker". It gives you the ability to open, cut, trim, fade, etc. any .mp3, cd audio, .wma, .wav to your liking and send it directly to your phone. There is a one time fee of $19.95 for the app. In return, you get unlimited use of their servers which your custom ringtone gets uploaded to before texting you the download link. Check out the demo here: Xingtone Ringtone Maker Demo Main site here: Xingtone Ringtone Maker Make your own personal ringtones! Don't pay for music you already own! Don't get locked into paying subscription fees ever! Use any of your favorite audio - even record your own! Use your CDs or MP3, WAV, WMA, etc. 3 easy steps - choose it, groove it, and move it! Drivers for the Razr (V3/V3C) are attached. Instructions are listed as (not my own words): 1. Download the driver unzip to a folder (feel free to scan im not evil) 2. Plug in phone with mini usb cable too computer Usb port. 3. Will auto detect and ask for drivers 4. Point install to folder and let it do its thing. 5. These drivers are also for p2k program (for hacking) but thats for another time. 6. Your phone will now charge with a cheap mini USb cord you can get for 5 bucks at frys.

  22. When I first read about a possible ATI merger/purchase, it was supposedly Intel who was jockeying for position. http://theinquirer.net/?article=31730 This AMD story seems much more likely indeed. As Ca3le stated, the two compliment each other so well.
