  1. never done it.. but from what it looks like, based on the screen shots, you are going to need some gpu power to run all of those fancy addons..
  2. i guess my post didnt go on here yesterday.. I use thunderbird as my mail client/ Rss reader.. It works out pretty nice.. if you throw rss reader into google you can find quite a few.. most them do the same thing.. and present it different ways.. just find on that works for you and use it.
  3. The most important things on these types of pcs.. Storage, video card, RAM, processor speed. In that order, that is my opinion. I would look into an ATI all in wonder series card, maybe 2x300gig hard drives, 1-2 gigs of ram, and like a 2.8-3.0 intel processor.
  4. if you are going to go with 512 mb of ram, with I would not suggest on that type of system, at least go with one stick... Get rid of the 2x256mb so that is the future it will be cheaper to upgrade.
  5. Have them replace it with a full vista copy.. That is what I wanted to say..
  6. yeah.. it will support it.. the max that you can go with the celeron line is 3.06... next time you might want to ask before you buy.. I have seen too many people order 754 Athlon 64s for 939 motherboards..
  7. I think my IQ just dropped..
  8. First welcome to the forum!! Do you know how far you are away from the CO? That pretty much determines how fast you can be.. the further away you are the slower you are going to get due to the loss in the frequency in the phone line itself. Every line can get "at least" 1.5Mbps..
  9. take a look for that.. http://www.tweaksforgeeks.com/NTLDR_is_missing_error_while_starting_windows.html Look like it happens when your MFT root folder is fragmented.. Read the article they give some details on how to fix it.
  10. You are going to get the Beta 2 build like everyone else.. And if you want it you can hop on google and find it pretty easy.. Glad to hear that they are going to do something.. i dont know about you.. But I would want a replacement copy for the money that I spent to get the os in the first place.
  11. sounds good to me.. That is the way to do it.. get rid of your "old" stuff and get some newer stuff for you!
  12. This topic has been moved to Make it Faster.... [iurl]http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=12043.0[/iurl]
  13. That is why it is still beta.. I dont know which beta you were running.. but from what I have heard beta 2 is a lot faster than the original release back in July/August.. The AreoGlass , the new GUI with the cool features, was improved and now it performing better on machines. I have yet to see the true operating specs.. I posted some earlier before CES but my guess is that is what MS wanted Vista to be shown on due to the lack of optmization and the fact that the software isnt even close to be shipped.
  14. Keep an eye on that thread.. let us know if the issue is resolved!
  15. Hahaha.. welcome to the computer industry.. The easy stuff is the hardest to do!
  16. it does in a way.. you can see what x64 can do.. with 64 bit programs.. but since there are very few out there, other than some video editing ones, there isnt a whole lot of reasons to install an os that isnt as well supported and is going to be out of date at the end of the year. I was watching Bloomburg report and Steve Ballmer, the CEO of MS, said that Vista will be shipping by November of 06. I dont know if this means it will be available to the public to purchace.. This way the 3rd parties can get it on the computers for the holiday season. I am also going to bet that we will see a fairly large set of programs move to the x64 platform by the time that the holidays roll around... This way you have something to run on the new HP you bought at Bestbuy.. Just my thoughts..
  17. that is interesting.. that is why the program is still beta 2.. wonder if MS put out a poor update that is causing it.. if you dont update it does it work normally?
  18. that is a damn good find!!
  19. My guess is pretty nice.. for $400.. it bet have been.. I personally have these.. http://www.koss.com/koss/kossweb.nsf/p?openform&pc^fs^PRO3AA I think that they sound just as good as the Bose.. but dont have the noise cancelling
  20. no it is not free.. It comes with the connection to hook the phone to the computer.. Search hard enough and you will be able to find it.. Most of the pic that are on phone are of so low quality, less than 1mp, and the size is like 680x400.. so you really cant print them..
  21. haha.. i will remove my post.. it is was your idea..
  22. you need the usb connection or bluetooth connection.. then you can configure it so that you upload the stuff to the phone.
  23. It means that you be able to get on fiber when the infrastructure is in place... I dont know if this is going to be "good" for you.. as there is currently a HUGE bill in the senate/house that could make it illegal for cities to build their own fiber networks and then sell acess to it.. I guess something about a monolopy and equal acess to the area?? BTW you get a news post.. http://www.testmy.net/articles/?p=405
  24. thank you! We are aware of the problem and are working as fast as we can to resolve the issue!
  25. You register multiple names to one IP address on a DNS server.. here is a good little overview.. http://www.serverwatch.com/stypes/servers/article.php/1127571 I am sure that Dark_Matter know a little bit more about this.. if he has it set up correctly.
