It must of been released early. Its the one I am on as I type this. If you can't find it let me know. I used but torrent and downloaded it. So far I am digging it. When it goes final I will for sure buy it. I am almost sure the 64 bit is out as well. I got it from demoniod. Its a slightly modified version but works great. Got my key from microsoft.

When I found out 7057 Did not expire until march of 2010 I decided to take the plunge. All I can say is WOW. I have it installed, While I made the jump from Xp I am still learning the ins and outs this thing is impressive to say the least. I am using it on my C drive. This will be my new os if they don't change much. This thing Rocks. Give it a shot if ya can.

Or If I will have to stay with the dual core. I have the 4200 plus. I really have no desire to replace the motherboard yet. If I have to go that extreem I will build a new computer. If you would be so kind on the cpu to give me a link or two to check out? I thank ya kindly.

Well it turned out it was the spliter the orginal cable guy put in. As well the line itself was not the best so that was replaced. What a huge diffrence in speeds as well it seems to hold. I thought forsure it was something else. Huh.

Update. Well I finally gave in and called the cable company. They ran a couple of tests and Seems there is a connection issue. Not sure if its the router or something wrong with the line. They are getting packett loss. Got lucky the guy I talked to spoke english and Did not give me a buch of try this and that crap.

Of late been using pc pit stops speed tests. Not sure why but testmy.nets speed test has been wrong on my connection. I have been trying to use testmy smart test. It was only showing speeds of say 3.2 when pit stop was showing my connection was up to speed. When pit stop was telling me my connection was up to speed, the surfing to diffrent sites, video from diffrent sites all worked as they should. My net connection was humming right allong as it should. Then as it slowed pit stop tests showed my connection had slowed while testmy was showing the same speed. Yes I closed the browser ran CCleaner and even tried a reboot. This is not a flame or a slam or whatever at testmy speed test. Not sure why its been so off the last couple of days. Using the same sites and video ya know you just KNOW when your connection if fine or running slow. Pit Stop was confirming while testmy was telling my speeds had not changed. I just figured while running the test last couple of days maybe testmy was having some problems? Unsure.

Yea mud the router. I have thrown hijack this at it. Did my scans in safe mode. Used spybot, malwarebytes. Did the virus scan with avast. If I do a reset of the router my speeds go fine. Reboot the machine or over a bit of time I loose my speeds. I even did a memory leak test to make sure I am not getting a memory leak issue. I have dual hard drives and it acts the same on both sides. My next and final test will put linux back on it for a short time and see what it does then. If it still acts slow with linux it has got to be the router or am I missing something else??

I THINK?? I have a bad cable box. I have xp pro. System is clean from virus and spyware. Problem is it sure seems like I have to reset the box way to much to get my speeds back. Ya know. Shut down the computer unplug the box........wait a couple of min........plug back in the box........wait few more min then turn back on the computer. If I do that I get my speeds back. Seems like it does this when I shut down the computer itself. Unless someone else has a idea??

Shug we must be both having a bad Week. Though mine was my own stupid fault. So My cable connection got really slow. Using xp. So me being me, I spend 3 days scanning with anti-virus/spy-ware and Trojan programs. Both in regular and safe mode. I run hijack this through it. For the life of me I have no clue why my connection got so slow. So after countless speed tests, Countless scans and Tons of reboots later I decide to reload Xp. No big deal. So I tell the ol lady I am gonna reload Xp, Tell her why. She thought it was a good idea because she had noticed the slow connection. She then said, "it got slow after I had to unplug the cable modem for a min." I asked was the computer on? She of course said yea, it took a bit of time but it reconnected again. She then looked at me with a guilty look and asked "Did I do something stupid"?? No she did not do something stupid. The geek troubleshooting the connection Did something Stupid. So I teach her how to recycle the cable modem. Ya know shut the computer down unplug the modem, wait a min or two, Plug the modem back in wait a couple of min turn on the computer. Just pretty as ya please, after I recycle the cable modem all is well. Connection is back up to speed. Just one of those times I make things way harder than it needs to be. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. After she noticed how much fater the connectin was and such, She of course had to ask Why did I not try that trick first. I told her that was just to simple and I have to play with and turn xp Inside out every once in awhile. Man I feel like a Dork.

I use opera because everyone else uses firefox. Thats just my nature. Everyone turns right I will turn left just to see what is going on that way. Plus I love the ability to edit Opera's right click menue.

There is a new weapon to help put off the foreclosure of someones home. Simply put. Tell them to produce the original note. Most banks have sold the note and things are so messed up in the banking industry they claim some of the time banks simply have no idea where the original note is. Google it. All kinds of useful information for someone you may know or even yourself. There is even a website that is set up to help file the papers in court demanding they produce the original note. (If someone can find it and post a link appreciate it) Have seen a few stories how banks simply walked away from the foreclosure because they have no clue where the original note even is. Never hurts to try that little trick. Nothing to loose.

Graywolf. If you are downloading using limewire or bareshare or anything like that You are forsure asking for a virus and or trojan. You may already have one. Thats your first step is to make sure you DON'T have any nasty's. Now if you insist on downloading go with bittorrent. It is less likely to give you a Virus and or trojan. If someone Catches a virus in the program, they will post in the reply section it has one, and the torrent will die. Hackers have much better luck spreading Trojans through Limewire or Bareshare or any program like that. Download this first, http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html . Now Malwarebytes does come in a free and paid subscrition. I use the free verson It works just fine. Spybot is also free. Update them both and scan with one, then scan with the other. Now last but not lest try this free program. http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html . After you check for spyware and virus and everything is ok. Set a restore point on your computer. Then run advanced system care and see what that does for ya. If it is of no help, or makes things worse then use your restore point to reset your computer to default settings. I love this program and have used it a long time. Give that all a shot and see what happens, let us know if it helped or not.

Sounds like your gonna be just fine. Man with the economy and all the bad news about people loosing jobs and homes, Crappy weather I am sure Many are feeling somewhat overwhelmed. More and More are turning to the Internet because its simply cheep intertainment and they simply can not afford much else. Nasty weather forces more to stay inside. Sometimes it takes trial and error to get one's self out of a kinda bummed out mood. The main thing is the desire to try. As long as you try, pull yourself up by your own boot straps and never give up, your right. It won't last long. If you have yahoo messenger, and want pm me your user name I will add ya. Myself, just to keep busy I find different things and try to figure them out. Few examples, How to nlite XP, How to best use HIjack this, Best way to back up and restore, Even how do they do the things on the "dark side" of the net. Even played with lynix a bit and messed with installing programs in it. Reading is a nice distraction. Just gotta find different things to keep you mind occupied. Try different Ideas and Do what works. I know a dude that needlepoints, Just think outside the box. Forums are nice and such but you can find yourself to hooked on the internet. Use your computer some as a distraction, heck even pick up a complicated computer game, But don't count on it so much you let life pass you by. Find things away from the internet and your computer. Find a hobby, build remote controlled airplanes and fly them. Sky is the limit. Been there done that and it sucks. Hang tough and best of luck.

This should be intresting to see. I don't think anything will be faster on windows 7, just think it will be more well behaved than vista and you really will have no need for a Super Computer To run It. Will have to see how it all plays out. If it turns out all to be true no need to update my computer for awhile longer. Think a dual core with 2 gig and 8800 video card will be just fine.

That may just be a beta thing tommy. Keep the pirates from taking it, like thats gonna help Its already out there and already be hacked. As soon as this goes final the torrent sites are gonna get busy. Because they already got vista's number I am sure it won't take long for windows 7 to hit the pirate sceen. If this thing works out good I am gonna buy a copy.

Lots of people when installing vista to dual boot with xp and the user could not get into xp due to the ntrdl is missing issue. Another problem was vista refusing to be put on the slave drive. (Dive D). Just one of countless reasons I stayed away from vista. So Yea lots of problems I hope they fixed with this windows 7. Hope one of you guys or gals can let me and others know if they fixed the problem or not.

Wonder if they fixed the boot problems that vista and xp had ? Anyone know?
