  1. surge the canopy. they will replace it for free. say there was a power outage and canopy went poof afterwards. works for me. first they gave me 3rd hand antenna upon the initial installation so i doubted it and it gave me crappy speeds. they replaced it soon when i reported its fried. serve them right.
  2. well its kinda like that, im based off basilan where the good guys are camped.there has been movements lately and work leads me where they are.
  3. too bad i dont have much time to reply and shed some light to help out. had this big troop drop off here in my area and im off serving comm at the base. ill try to keep up til the basilan thingy is cleared.
  4. exhaust yourself to find the best speed you can have, means testing all availables APs in you area, take in from me smart deserves 3 broken canopy modules from me each month if they wont give the speed they supposed to.
  5. such a rough point of view. you may not be able to survive surfing the net without the aids of testmy.net, subscribing to smartbro gives you a lot of assignments and lessons to be learned, damn i finished College and started business at home and yet it never ends there, here we got classmates takin up smartbro, we may not know if this ends like school but theres one thing for sure. we are all takin the same classes one point in our lives.
  6. you can say that again, would have been nice to keep something vital small and low resource consumption anti virus, nod32 is okay but it eats up some numbers.
  7. all you got to do is wait till they do something about the base station. thats their end thats messed up.
  8. always give yourself a time to wait before re tweakin your stuff, it might be in the base stations end. say 1 day if things aren't doing well, remember smartbro gives out crap a lot when they do site maintenance without prompting the subs. and i don't want my self tweakin my stuff because i had a speed issue for just an hour, it will just frustrate you when you wanna challenge smartbros speed issues. it happens when speeds get too low. don't panic, your just experiencing what you payed for when you subscribed to smartbro,
  9. kaspersky, nod32,avg, norton, strangles my speed. avast for me seems to be goin g along well with my win xp sp2. i tried to find the answer to that too. here's my 2 cents, avast is good.
  10. welcome to teh club. glad it worked for you.
  11. I have 19 reported case in my area and some others from gensan etc about smart screwin up this days. i think theyre doin remote configurations on the subs and it doesnt help but screw up the speeds. if you are experiencing problems like lease time cut down to days, lan aggregate connection of 10 Mbps, and canopy lockouts then you are a victim. in my case i always check my connection and seein that i got locked out for no reasons is somthing not ordinary, first i got my leased time cut down to 7 days from a default of 37 years, and next the lockout. with the lan status i was able to bring it back 100 mbps, the lockout i was able to manage and revert the configs they did. drawback is im gettin low speeds at the moment, like yesterday the speed was like crap and went ok by nighttime. use your quickfix 1 to check your DNS status and if it shows up losses then your in for a day.
  12. you cant get a decent setting with cfos running and installed in your pc. tried that it does speed up things but on a spike, i wouldn't want to use anymore apps for MTU adjustments running on the system. how would you set 1500 on the max MTU if cfos screws it up adjusting itself and overriding it changing the values to 1496. i didn't get a good stable line with cfos, i tried it 3 months. use cablenut or tcpoptimizer without the cfos installed.
  13. try out the posted sample cablenut css we attached for a headstart, read coolbusters guide, we are using the same cablenut me and coolbusters and it worked fine. i never had such luck on it TCPopti. jun101ph is the TCP Optimizer user who has yielded good results on his part, you might wanna exchange thoughts bout it with him.
  14. thats quite ok, about 80 % of the advertised speed. are those with tweaks already? im from zamboanga too.
  15. do some tweaks, might improved the performance of your line.
  16. site congestion would be the culprit. your speed is fine but in the afternoons thats such a headache. options would be to change AP to a lesser populated site, i would suggest that if all things are low. 21 user counts are mean in my observation because in my area alone 15 is quite a fuzz already. you may and may not change your AP thats up to you, but ill tell you, you have a decent connection already.
  17. the connection is like throwing a golf ball and it bounces off somewhere else before you reach at what you aim at. try using a traceroute and see where it goes first before reaching a destination you chose. different isp's has different ways to get you there fast and others it takes them slow. to sum it all it has to be on the isp's end and the link between the subscriber. poor system means slow speed.
  18. i dont know but it popped up like that. i didnt risk it believin the canopy would blow up. can't find the ap anyways after scanning. it showed twice already before by 700+ and now with that. haha smartbro surprises me sometimes.
  19. well thats mean you went through all those times with that service. one thing though with tune up utilities under the optimize internet section to know is that it wont help you optimize, what it does is revert your default rwin value to that of a newly installed OS which is what we tweaked for for an optimal value. other part of the applications are great. doesn't help though with speed.
  20. oops ap was gone. its listed on my index 2. must have been bugged or something. anyways it doesn't appear on the ap scan again. hope i can find it again.
  21. got a friend who was installed a sendfar antenna instead of the motorola canopy lite, damn that sendfar module was used before the days of smart wifi before they renamed themselves smartbro. new connection old canopy. how crappy do you get with smart!
  22. i dunno but i tried out the nearest tower site on the canopy AP selection. seems bugged last time i checked that it gave me 700 and now that. haha smartbro is weirder by the days.
