  1. what the? you do phew?
  2. disable NAT in your canopy don't use it. In computer networking, the process of Network Address Translation (NAT, also known as Network Masquerading, Native Address Translation or IP Masquerading) involves re-writing the source and/or destination addresses of IP packets as they pass through a router or firewall. Most systems using NAT do so in order to enable multiple hosts on a private network to access the Internet using a single public IP address (see gateway). Many network administrators find NAT a convenient technique and use it widely. Nonetheless, NAT can introduce complications in communication between hosts and may have a performance impact. <---- that's according to wiki, see?
  3. with smartbro there's no such thing as accurate or consistent
  4. not yet. only the lan card gets burnt.
  5. nothing to loose. its actually a new idea. if the 1st one doesn't work, it will simply find another registered dns. i think there's not gonna be any problem.
  6. its like dual booting one PC with 2 windows xps. already in the system.
  7. sort of. but notice i did not specify where to go :2funny:
  8. if you "kinda" like the 20 steps, please hit the poll and the advertisements for me hehe
  9. @ fr0st now you seems like a freshman and the new comer is the senior huh? its always good to learn many fresh ideas isn't it?
  10. hahaha. i always say it's not always 7th heaven if its smartbro!
  11. are you not using opendns or a proxy before you told us you are using opendns? coz your signature is revealing. a speedtest without opendns or proxy will always reveal smartbro.net as host. please correct me if i'm wrong.
  12. can i get back my word? coz i know you've already been taken :2funny: just kidding
  13. they always will know. but don't worry, they're too busy for that!
  14. ehem. can i butt-in? :2funny:
  15. welcome back to reality :2funny:
  16. here's my own thinking about DNS. smartbro's primary and alternate DNS server gives limited speed if not congested. Open DNS, on the otherhand, has unlimited bandwidth though it resides abroad.
  17. this hot gal is correct. try to use different settings on different occasions. and one setting for one computer might not be applicable to another. here's a tip which will be incorporated in a future post in my Blog (sort of a foreplay). try to use cfosspeed trial version. it will change some settings of cablenut (TcpWindowSize & GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize) do check out the adjuster. list the value which cfosspeed will provide then use it also as your RWin. uninstalling cfosspeed trial version after the process is your own prerogative.
  18. the other thread reveals SiraComputer made his (or her ) way to 500+ by following My 20 Steps (to stardom ) guide. why is it not happening to you?
  19. @zouldier welcome to the forum. keep your posts coming
  20. i think that's where the problem is, your lancard driver. windows xp has a bundled driver but the older one. download the latest which usually has the bugs fixed.
  21. @SiraComputer you got nice speed... and pic too
  22. sometimes, speed tests go like that. the result may not be accurate but makes us feel good
  23. that's nice. you got faster speed now.
  24. welcome back fr0st. there's a lot now who get 600+ kbps. however, the 800+ i dunno. check out my reply to your query in the other thread.
