I'm certainly not going to vote for Obama.I read a good bit of the speech & He is trying to have his cake & eat it too. He says he doesn't agree with some of what his reverend said but then defends him as being a good man who he hasn't seen show prejudice agains other races. Personally I have a problem for any citizen who doesn't define themselves as American only. If they are "African-American" like Obama claims to be then since they put Africa before America let them return to Africa where their loyaltity apparently is. Same for "Mexican-American" If you put Mexico first then return or become a citizen of Mexico.Where your loyalty must be since you put it first.The same for any people who came to America or were born here that decide to describe themselves with another country first then America.Either you are an American only or you don't belong here not as a citizen anyway.I doubt temporary visitors with visas using Mexico as the example call themselves "Mexican-Americans".I bet the say they are Mexicans.Illegals shouldn't be here any way & all Illegals should be deported period.

I'm going to wait awhile & see how many are having problems with Vista SP1.One reason right now mine seems stable.So SP1 would have to do something I need for me to install it. When I did a complete system takeown & icacls grant I had to reactivate .I might have to do that again if I do the same once SP1 is installed.

That means you are an American. Mexicans are those born in Mexico. Native Ameicans in Cuba? What tribe? I know Native Americans were in Mexico & a lot more tribes than Incas,Mayas & Aztecs.

Personally I liked Sikco.It covered health care in a lot more countries than Cuba & made comparisons to the US health care or lack of. As for hating Cubans I think most Americans have nothing against Cubans as long as they stay in Cuba.Visitors(tourists) would be OK just not illegals.Technically I don't believe any Cuban is considered an illegal.They are considered defectors & given asylum as soon as their feet hit the shore.But many take the same jobs as other countries illegals do.Taking Americans jobs.I've already heard the argument that these are jobs Americans don't want.That's actually not true what's forgotten to be added is at the wages the illegals are willing to do the job for. I doubt the majority of American say I really want to be a plumber when I grow up but for what plumbers make native born Americans become plumbers.Willing to get up to their elbows in other peoples crap.So the difference seems to be the money. Also the Cubans want to bring their customs & language instead of becoming Americans.They also bring a lot of criminals & drug dealers.So there are some reasons for not wanting Cubans here. Yes I think we shouldn't be trading with any country that allows slave wages China would be at the top of that list.We fought a bloody war over this At least that was part of the reason.We have a Constitutional amendment making slavery illegal so I don't understand why we allow trade with countries that allow wages so low it is really slavery or worse slaves would probably have more provided for them then the low wages those people make. Wait 20 years or so & if it stays like it is going the Chinese will be saying theres another boatload of those damn Americans coming to take our jobs.

Unless a new Cablenut version has been made for Vista the TCP receive window and send window CN makes are in the registry location they are in XP.They are there but don't change the Vista TCP receive window and send window. Using netsh int tcp set global commands are the only way to change the TCP receive window and send window at all.Even then you don't have real control in that you can set the size. I don't know how to set the send but my receive is currently 65340 .I have disabled it with netsh int tcp set global commands .I played around with these settings & it may have been using "experimental" setting then back to disabled that even set Vista to this. Do you know where I can check the Vista send window?

I guess I will have to check out Windows 2008. Like I posted my Vista was around 11 & a half GB.I had a problem with the SVI folder continuing to grow but found a workaround so now it stays a 0.I also removed all Norton .

I have plenty of HD space & will put in more RAM even if everything runs fine on 1 G of RAM. If my computer had came witha 1 G stick I would have already installed another 1 G but it came with two 512MB sticks. How big are is Vista supposed to be on a fresh install? If anyone has Vista post how big was it when you first got your computer or bought Vista & installed it or maybe were a beta tester. How big is XP on a new install?

I guess I care.My reason is the smaller the OS can be & work the faster it is.Less to fragment. On a fresh reformat my Vista is about11 &1/2 G Right now it is around 15 G.I just like MS using only what it needs. What would you say if MS had made Vista 500 G ?Even if you had a terabyte HD.

I intend to add another gig to my Vista I just haven't yet.But tweaked Vista isn't as much of a resourse hog.My complaint is the amount of HD space Vista uses just for itself. For watching movies it depends how you are doing that,If your just watching a prerecorded disc from your DVD drive then no problem with the ram you already have.If your streaming the movie from the internet the your connection speed will be what effects it most.

racenchk ;Probably a good idea on the change to XP.Still your DL improved but your UL is lower. With Vista your DL speed was better after the tweaks.I would still like to know the tweaks youi actually did.So how about a list .That might prevent someone else form having the same problem.

racenchk ; I think I can help you get back to where you were depending on which tweaks you did. If you did this one that is the default setting for most Vista OS's so that shouldn't be the problem. " netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal Maybe a few instructions on this .First Run command prompt as administrator.Once you have the command prompt type or copy & paste this : netsh int tcp show global This will show the commands currently on your Vista. netsh int tcp set global /? This will show the command options You might try the "disabled" setting then back to the "normal" Now if you installed & tried Cablenut.This is bad advice for Vista.Cablenut does NOT work with Vista period.Vista adjustments are completely different.I don't have it installed on my Vista but I have used Cablenut in the past .I believe at the bottom of the Cablenut control panel there is a "Remove Cablenut registry settings" button That might not be the exact name but should be similar.Use that first then restart your computer.Then uninstall Cablenut with it's uninstall.Restart again.Any settings Cablenut made should be removed. If you made other changes some may be correctable .If you used a "Registry Cleaner"then you may need to "reinstall" Vista.Since you have only had it a week that shouldn't be too much of a problem.I don't use a registry cleaner if you do be very careful with what you decide to let it remove or change.If you did use one & it was a "good"one it should have given you a backup option.If you have a registry cleaner backup follow it's instructions.To restore . I made a post for removing Norton correctly here: http://www.testmy.net/t-20662.msg238124#msg238124 On "reinstalling" your Vista my PC had this option on the computer manufacturer or BIOS boot screen when I purchased it.yours may also have this.If it does that is what I really reccomend since you have only had your notebook a week.If you don't know contact the manufacturer.Then you can remove the Norton correctly. If your specific DVD writer(burner) doesn't write DVD-R or did & has stopped.You may be able to flash it's firmware.Basically the BIOS for the DVD writer's chip. btw the "chip" manufacturer may not be Sony But maybe lite-on for example & there are some others.It may have a Mediatek chip set.So check them for the flash also.

ExtremeFusion ;Glad you got it fixed.Alcohol is a solvent & will work but it can be hard on some polymers.That's why the contact cleaner is a better choice.But you can probably get by once. On replacing the part if you need to in the future.If you haven't use a soldering iron much then it would probably be best not to.If you are going to solder get a good soldering gun & put in a small tip for delicate soldering.A magnifying glass you can look through while working helps.Then you need a manual desolderer the kind that vacuums the old solder off & excess new solder if necessary.

ExtremeFusion It looks like the "joystick" contacts are 4 microswitches.Some good quality fast drying electric contact cleaner might make them work better.If they are just worn out & could get the part .

ExtremeFusion I haven't been inside a mobile phone .Does the key pad contact have the "graphite" surface? Thats the part that makes contact with the circuit board.This surface is what the kit repairs. It is possible that the circuit board has been worn out or damaged if that's the case then there is no repair.

I don't know what OS you have if it's Vista you may need to give access permission. Since you are able to DL it It's probably not the firewall. It might have something to do with copyright protection. I don't have a 360 but have you tried to run the audio through your stereo/amp to see if you get a right chanel buzz on it.If you do there is probably a right chanel problem with your 360.You might need to get it warrantied. With Vista Cablenut doesn't work.It makes changes in the registry but those changes don't have any effect.XP on back CN will affect your speed positively with the correct settings or negatively with the wrong ones.If you are getting just a burst then leveling you probably need some different settings. Maybe the proxy completly loads the You Tube video then sends it at a speed your connection can handle.

Have you tried finding another copy of explorer.exe with search in your OS?If you have that see if you can copy & paste it in where your Windowsexplorer.exe is.You may have to do this in safe mode .You may not be able to do it from even safe mode.If you had DOS then it would be much easier from outside Windows.Then you could just extract or copy the extra & probably good explorer.exe to DOS then to C:Windows. There is a linux boot disc you can do this with but you have to learn some linux. Also I haven't used one but XP has a recovery console if you have a full Windows XP install disc.It might be possible to fix it from there.

Unfortunately Cablenut is useless for Vista.You are correct 1 is for enable or 0 for off. I think TOS slows you down unless you need it to route packets in your own network home or business. I wonder why speedguide gets the snip it used to be recommended.
