  1. Ha! Great video. What did you torch it with? And how did you make yourself invisible? Nice counter top btw
  2. Great post and information thanks Blako
  3. Yep baby stuff will keep you busy. So far I only broke the bot once Updated first post with commands for the different scripts.
  4. Can't teach a old dog new tricks I tried 7 and Vista don't like either. Actually I prefer Linux but I always keep a XP box for convenience Welcome to the channel btw
  5. I recently talked to CA3LE about setting up a official IRC room for TMN. He agreed it would be a good idea so I have went ahead and started setting it up. IRC is old school chat but still used by a huge amount of people. It is a great way to hangout and talk in real time and very easy to idle in. I have many fun things planned for the channel such as some games, quotes system, F@H tracking, poker, and more just take a little time to get it going. How can I join? For those of you that know IRC the information is: Server: irc.dal.net Channel: #TMN There are many different options but for now I am going to list just 2 of the easiest and most popular, mIRC and Mibbit. mIRC By far the better choice of the two. You can download it here http://www.mirc.com/ Install it and open it and you will be greeted with a screen something like this: Now you need to choose/add the server you want to connect to. In this case it is irc.dal.net So click "server" and choose Dalnet than Random Server (it will automatically connect you to the server closest to you) than click "select. Now where it says nickname enter your desired nickname and hit "connect". A window will come up asking you which channel you will join. Enter #TMN and enter. You will now be in TMN IRC channel If you plan on spending some time with us on IRC you should register your nickname so it is reserved for you it is also required to get +v on the channel. To register your nickname type /nickserv register <password> <e-mail> and follow the instructions. Than whenever you connect you will need to identify with nickserv so it knows you are the owner of the name. To identify yourself with nickserv type /nickserv identify <password> Mibbit As far as I know everything above works in Mibbit or at least it should as the protocol is the same. You can get Mibbit here http://mibbit.com/ If you use Firefox mibbit already comes bundled with it. Auto Join: If you have mIRC installed or are using firefox you can click this link http://irc://irc.dal.net/tmn and it will connect you to #TMN automatically. I just picked up a shell for the eggdrop bot (TMN) and got it running and I will slowly start adding tcl scripts to add to the channel. For now feel free to join us and lol at me breaking stuff! I plan to get a bit more in depth on this guide soon and cover basic commands as well as how to use our local bot TMN. Using TMN (The Bot) Unlike many TMN does not mind feeling used. As I add modules and scripts to him I will post here about each one and how to use it. Stats.Mod This module records and stores all types of user and channel stats on a internal database. The fact that this is a module and compiled into the bot itself makes it much faster than a .tcl script. Here is a list of commands you can use with this mod. Public commands: ---------------- !top10 [ordering] lists the top10 users in the channel !top20 [ordering] same as !top10, but lists the top20 (surprise!) !stat [user] shows the statistics for the user !place [user/ordering] shows on which place the user is !ttop10/!ttop20/!tstat/!tplace same as above, but only uses the statistics of today !wordstats [user] lists the most used words of the user !topwords lists the most used words in the channel !top10 word <word> lists the top10 people who used <word> Msg commands: ------------- All public commands are also accessible via /msg. ("/msg <TMN> top10 #chan", for example) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< gseen.Module Public commands: ---------------- !seen <nick> I think this command doesn't need an explanation. !seen <mask> Searches the database for entries that match <mask> for example "!seen *!user@dialin-*.isp.com" !seennick <nick> !seen also checks if a user was online later with a different nick. !seennick only seens for <nick> !seenstats just a little report on how many nicks are tracked All commands are also accessible via /msg. ("/msg <TMN> seen <nick>", for example) Google Script Public Commands !google !googleuk !image Quotes System (For now only admins can add quotes) !quote <number> !findquote !quoteinfo !lastquote !randquote More to come soon! Hope some of you will come hangout Lorne
  6. Yep will include pictures when I start forsure. Thats a nice case I am thinking about going with a mountainmods case. They make some massive very customizable cases and I will definetly have room inside for the large rads I plan on using.
  7. Great TriRan! I see you active in the stats already I picked up a new PSU for this Acer Aspire and it's running now so that will add another Quad Core Phenom to the mix Stats for Dec 8th We'll start taking over a few teams next week and hopefully a few more people will decide to join us!
  8. Good to hear I don't understand what you mean by counter productive though. I am still in contact with some folding buddies of mine from a few years ago and they are still going strong with their farms which mainly consist of old and low to mid-range computers and they are still crunching along just fine. Could you go into a little more detail about this? Stats Update for Dec. 5th 2011 We climbed a spot not much but a start If we can get a few more active people we'll climb fast!
  9. Seems most people went inactive on this. I hope maybe we can revive the team some! There is no real reason not to run this on your computer. It doesn't interfere with with anything as it only uses spare CPU cycles. It might increase your electric bill by a couple dollars but nothing noticeable. It is a good thing to do and benefits this generation and future generations. A free way to help people not to mention it can be competitive and that's fun! Here is a stats update for today Dec. 4th 2011 I should showup on there pretty quick I'm crunching a monster right now Please guys take the time to get this running on your computers. If you used to fold and stopped please consider getting active again. Lets see if we can start clawing our way back up the rankings! Lorne
  10. H Alucard, Thanks for the information Last time I looked at parts Newegg was still only in the USA thats how long I have been out of the loop! Here is the start of a list. CPU- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115070 RAM- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226099 MOBO- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131771 Hard Drive 1-http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820167042 (later on maybe I'll get another and RAID 0 just for fun) Hard drive 2-http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136490 Case- I am not sure on this but probably a Lian Li one of the larger ones they make as I need room for water cooling. PSU- I always used Enermax on my builds in the past and will again this time. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194046 Vid Card- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130587 Burner- http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289 Depending on when the Ivy Bridge comes on the market I may try one of the K series (unlocked) will have to see. I'm working now on putting together a solid water cooling system. The case will be modded and painted or maybe chromed. I have a buddy here that works at a chroming shop so going to ask him about it. Should be fun!!
  11. CA3LE I see in the first test the host is cox and in the second softlayer. Makes sense to me since SoftLayer has the best routing in the world and Cox can't even come close to competing with it. Or did I miss something?
  12. Well after being out of the loop for a very longtime I decided to get back into building my own rigs and OCing. My first rig I ever had was a P3 450 mhz Coppermine. I dicscovered OCing and ended up running that Coppermine at 850 mhz for a year than built my next rig a AMD 2500 M for those of you remember that awesome OCing CPU. Than I went MIA from the computer world due to real life issues and am now slowly finding my way back. This build which I nicknamed Project Pheno is scheduled for February 2012. What I want from this Build: 1> Ability to OC! I love to push it as far as possible and than push a bit more I want to get some big speeds from this Rig. 2> F@H I have always been a big fan of F@H and the more this rig can crunch the better. 3> HD movies and encoding/decoding. We watch alot of HD 1080 and do alot of decoding and encoding so want the rig to be fast and smooth for this. 4> Gaming. I will do some gaming and want to be able to play any of the new and upcoming games at full res and smooth. I love FPS. 5> Not only am I obsessed with OCing I am obsessed with big scores on all types of benchmarks so overall speed is a factor. The Budget- Roughly 2k this is for just the box I already have monitor, speakers etc.. I live in Montreal QC and so far haven't found a real good store to use for parts. I would prefer to buy locally so if you know of a good store here please post a link. I want the rig to be watercooled maybe with a chiller for higher speeds? So please leave advice and suggestions as right now I am trying to catch up and have no idea what's out there or coming as far as hardware. Hardware List and Links CPU- ?? RAM- ?? MOBO- ?? Hard Drives- SSD in RAID 0 (Hardware Controller) Brand? Case- ?? PSU- ?? Watercooling- ?? Vid Card(s)- ?? DVD Burner- ?? I'll be doing some research and updating this as I go also based on what people suggest. Thanks for any help you can give me on this!
  13. I joined and should have a decent amount of power to throw at it. Right now added a Dell Poweredge SC1435 with x2 Dual Opterons and 12GB of ram. We were actually using it as a coffee table in our basement Soon as I find a PSU for this Acer I have sitting here there will be a Phenom Quad added and I am planning a massive build that will be watercooled and OCed to the max for this February and I'll add that rig when it's done. Go testmy.net!
  14. I'm late but Happy B-day CA3LE! Hear you have a kid baking to congrats A lot of fun and stress coming your way hehe. I have a 1.5 year old boy and a 2 month old boy and they are a blast when they aren't driving you crazy! I hope everything goes smooth for you. Lorne
  15. Hi tdawnaz, yeah it has been a really longtime. Life threw some curve balls that took me awhile to sort out. But now things are getting back to being somewhat normal so hopefully I can stick around Your welcome for the advice. Linux is really the way to go and I am writing that from a windows box lol. I still like some convenience
  16. You need to worry more about rootkits than viruses. I install rkhunter on every Linux box I run and it has always worked well for me. http://rkhunter.sourceforge.net/ Can do a few basic things as well to keep the script kiddies from attacking such as changing ssh port and disabling root, locking root access to IP things like this
  17. Scary stuff! Only thing close I have ever experienced was when MT. St. helens went up I wasn't living to far away and things got a little shaky...something you can't even imagine until you experience it. Good your ok man and no damage to your house?

Welcome to testmy I'm sure you'll love it here
  19. When you lower numbers your are basically overclocking your ram so you may have to increase the voltage on your ram to get it to work. Or you could loosen up the timings on the corsair to 5. Here is a article on OCing ram..hope it helps. Overclocking Ram Article
  20. Not sure what card you had before? Did you uninstall the drivers for previous card? Might want to try out the omega drivrs for that card to. They have always worked for me when others haven't
  21. Well what i really want is a 1u server for hosting a gameserver. A new desktop would be nice to though hehe. Decisions

If you have to wait a little longer. But do not get a cheap psu...it will come back to bite you eventually...or sooner Enermax, Antec, and OCZ have great psu's. I can't comment on any others as i have not tried them.
