  1. Thats basically where i'm at, its going to most likely be 8 blu-ray players. Now I just need to find one that will repeat with out going to a menu. A screen saver wont work. You would never get the quality. And you wont be able to set a specific one for each monitor.
  2. Thats fucked up. Bandwidth is so cheap now. But I guess down under its hard to get it, since it doesn't seem very many bandwidth providers go down that far. They have had them for a little while now. as far as I know AT&T is the only one that doesn't have a cap now.
  3. 25GB thats just wrong. You could eat through that in no time. What is the overage charge? ISP's are going to start to do that here, with monthly limits, and its not going to fly. Companies are going to start suing ISP's if they put in monthly limits here, it will just kill so many of there products. The FCC needs to say "no way" to monthly bandwidth limits.
  4. Can't set it to go too full screen on its own, when the app is launched from startup, and can't run more then one instance of it self. And can't set each of them on a different display. I can get quick time to open on more then one instance of it self. But I can't get it too go to full screen on its own, and have each one open up on a different display. JH2688 ive thought out the HD-DVD idea, that was my first, But they won't repeat, and its getting kinda of hard to find a HD-dvd burner, that is still in stock. I was thinking of just have 8 apple tv's and just program our remote too pull up the file through the menu when its turned on, But they wont repeat with out going to the menu.
  5. Comcast bumped there upload today to 1mbps + Boost http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Makes-Upstream-Speed-Boost-Official-95217
  6. Come on guys. we all knew it was going too happen eventually. That wont work because, you would never be able to take it full screen on its own, and you would never get the quality, streaming over a web player.
  7. Another thing I forgot to mention is, I need it too loop over and over again, They are going to be about 3 - 4 min clips, that have too loop over and over again.
  8. Yes but you can't set them to open on a specific display when the computer starts.
  9. I have a project for work. I'm trying to figure out a solution too a problem. The problem: We need to have video playing on 8 separate monitors, and the video has to be different on each monitor. And when you turn it on, it has to start playing, so a computer just wont work. It also needs to be able to play 1080p video, 720p would be ok, but we really want 1080p for clarity. Since they are going to be 24" monitors. I'm just about all out of ideas for getting this too work. does anyone have any ideas?
  10. cold fusion is not the future. Adobe AIR + PHP is the future.
  11. Your upload is real high because comcast has increased the upload speed for all customers. Your on 6/1 now + powerboost not 6/384 http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/Comcast-Upload-Speed-Increase-94957
  12. Never use wireless cameras, they all suck. It doesn't matter how little or much you spend they suck. They will always interfere with something, or something will interfere with them. Plus its really easy for a crook too steal the signal and watch the cams. Always go wired.
  13. Smart objects is really just so you can keep a copy of the original for scaling right in the file of a pasted object so you don't loose quality if you want to scale it back up later.
  14. Its not fully threaded, leopard isn't fully threaded either. Linux isn't even fully threaded. Leopard is ahead of both but you still notice when its not, 10.6 will be 100% threaded for multi processor, multi core. And windows 7 should be 64bit only, its really stupid that they are not doing that. So we are going to have to wait another 5 years till windows 8 before its 64bit only. And apple is going to start its push into enterprise next year with 10.6 snow leopard. http://www.apple.com/macosx/snowleopard/ they showed off a little yesterday, it will be 100% threaded, all the apps will be fully coco, and is adding full support for exchange built right in. Adding exchange support is the first big step into the enterprise. And they are adding OpenCL for GPU acceleration too everything.
  15. Good ones yea, But you have too always be aware that at anytime the website could be bought out, or people could just stop using it, and then your out of a job. This won't really happen if you get in with a big web company, but the smaller ones it will.
  16. Well it would actually be both AMD and Intel. AMD could probably make it on something else if MS said no more. Or even worse for intel if MS came out and said "ok the next version of windows is going AMD exclusive" Intel would be done. But MS would be shooting them selves in the foot because there are so many people who will only buy a intel processor.
  17. No. Intel hates Microsoft because of the things they choose to do. Microsoft has constantly fucked Intel. Intel has a 16bit processor, Microsoft is still pushing a 8 but OS. Intel has a 32bit processor and MS again is pushing a 16 bit OS. XP comes around MS makes AMD look really good, even tho at the time they had a slower processor. Intel has a dual core processor, but MS won't make anything multi threaded till AMD is ready. The problem is MS and Intel can't live with out each other. Not being able to really do multicast imaging is kinda stupid. (It can be done, but not really easily) But you know once apple makes the push for enterprise that will come, They are already starting the push with the iPhone now. They will probably add more enterprise friendly features with 10.6 because they know there is a market for it.
  18. ok try this http://uploadingit.com/files/659519_obc5h/2003_ad1.psd had to fix it a bit since it was done in a really old version of photoshop But there are 2 layer groups pic_1 and pic_2, when you open them you will see places to just add in your scanned images, in the right place so you don't have to be messing around with anything, and its just quick and easy. you can resize them in under the box with out messing up anything else. Also just so you know it is quite a big image, depending on how much ram you have you may not want to have a ton of stuff open at the same time.
  19. Because they make no money on linux. Every time they sell a copy of windows they make money. And they make quite a bit when they sell a copy of windows server. The only place dell makes money off linux is a little bit from hardware. Depending on which linux system you buy from dell they could actually loose money depending on if you call support and how many times.
  20. This is pretty easy to do. I have some stuff from when I was on yearbook/tv production in high school, ill digg it up right now and get it for ya, it will show you the best way how to do it...
  21. Dell has never liked Microsoft. Intel doesn't even like Microsoft. I didn't say they where pushing linux on anyone. I sad they are pushing them pretty hard by, making the computers easier to find, cheaper, and more models. As well as getting the features working out of the box such as DVD playback.
  22. Dell has already said they would make the move. Dell doesn't really like Microsoft, And they are pushing linux pretty hard because they don't like Microsoft. The only problem would be if Dell and MS have some kind of contract that says they have to sell windows on there primary PC's for X # of years.
  23. closed systems are much better, opening thing up causes problems. Espically on something that is used as much as a OS is. EDIT: Even if they did open it up you wouldn't able to use it because you can't get a motherboard with a EFI You can kinda eumlate it, but thats just a drag because you have to keep a CD in every time you boot.
  24. Software programing pays far in excess of web development if you can get in with microsoft, apple, adobe, and a few others. Web dev. is still new on a large scale, most is done with very small companies, and is generally harder to get into and actually make some money.
  25. CSS is extremely easy to lean, but is very important because its what makes a website look the way it does.
