Hey there XMechanic! With regard to G3C, she is not hurt, just misconfigured as DWay continues to transfer new users (and some older ones) to the new bird Horizons 1. There is also some trouble with a new server they just put online that (it appears) is directly affecting that one bird, but G4R is having brain farts lately too ...and of course I have to be shooting it, bu of course. I tell ya, my luck is so danged rotten that if I bought a Turkey Farm they would outlaw Thanksgiving that same week! LOL..... Anyway, stick around. You'll find you haven't had so much fun since the pigs ate your kid sister and left some for you! We'll get after your machine and do a bit of tweaking on you to get you up outta that hole they have you in. I've already found you in the DWay system and am tracking things for ya (hope ya don't mind) ....I don't take personal info, just speed data and numbers. Chances are 100% that we can get your speed up to at least 80% of the advertised speed you were told when sales ripped you off. Okay! When you feel like it, and you know the web is running half decent (non-business hours)--- do a speed test using the 2992 file and then cut n paste that puppy in here again, and I'll take some notes, do a little math, and tell you what I think is your best bet at getting her back off the ground. Since you have a 6000CE you are in good shape. Mine is an AU AND AG ....so getting this to run any faster than 1350Mpbs is like pulling teeth, and this is supposed to be their fastest commercial account? HA! Oh! Hey, give it a day or two because they are screwing around with that bird and so there is nothing we can do on this end that would be of any good. Sorry for the wait, but I have no control over their idiots at the Level III who should be in the room to begin with. Right now, you are amoung about 12,000 customers running the same speed. The other half are getting awesome speeds over 1.3Mpbs (average). I'll let you know when things change, or pls let me know asap when you observe a change for the better. Since you have applied all tweaks, did you also download and install TCP Optimizer PLUS Dr. TCP only to turn Time Stamping on? I've included them (attached) to save you at bit of searching. Here are the most successful settings for Dr. TCP: TCP Receive Window 0 Window Scaling No Time Stamping Yes! (helps with latency) Selective Acks Yes Dial Up (RAS) MTU (el blanko) Path MTU Discovery YES Black Hole Detection NO Max Duplicate ACKs 2!!!! TTL 64 Adapter Settings should be for whatever device is listed in that box that is listed. If you have a LAN and Router, use your NIC. IF not, use whatever it detected, set the MTU to 1500 and SAVE wherever your like the exit. Leave that in your machine no matter what. ----------------------------------------------------- For TCP Optimiser (from Speed Guide) <---has more toys! First, click on FILE, then select "Backup Current Settings" just in case you get dusted.... On the mid-line of choices, set it to Extreme In the Netowkr Adapter Selection, most likely your NIC will be displayed and that's what ya want Everything should be pretty much ghosted when set to Extreme Set the lower choice to Optimal Settings Under the MTU, you can let it check for you by clicking on the start, but ALL of DWay uses an MTU of 1500 for DW6000s especially (some 4000s are better off with 1460 or 1480. On the Latency/Ping tab, "modify" it so that your favorite haunts are listed - - plus www.google.com and www.cnn.com this will give you an excellent number to reference for your config!!!! Double check to make sure it is still set to Optimal Settings, Apply Changes, then reboot that puppy, get on bended knee and pray for the best when you test again. You SHOULD see an increase, but if not, it will get better over the next very few days. If not? Dig me up and we'll take that sucker apart. C4 ....everything. Cheers! The Reverend

Yeah? I've been online to this site for 7 days and 23hrs and counting. I married this place to my motherboard and they can't live without each other. The new server is DESIGNED to run AT LEAST at 10Mbps ...so I am sure it can be tweaked for higher with little to no troubles. I am leaving the memory "as is" unless CA3LE needs more, and in that case he's got it within 24hrs. Hey there Jim2006, I hear ya. We are using a pesonal (home) server with Xeon duals in her for just our home systems, because it makes it easier and makes for a stronger LAN/WAN ...but I use the Linux Redhat environment. Yesterday that is what I ordered for CA3LE because stupid me misunderstood, so it took an extra 12hrs to get it cancelled out and moved into a Helm for Windows Server (plus the added headache for them to change over the other East/West Dedicated Servers. I never doubted you for a moment, sorry that you misunderstood my words. It is just that since this entire deal is my treat to the entire community (because I find "good things" in CA3LE in all ways), I am giving him 100% control of that puppy. I'll just maintain the financial end of things and watch him work the small wonders tha he does ....such as right now I am seeing things being slowly intertwined, new lins, subs, and I am watching the HDD spaces being allocated. Trust me, the man IS BUSY!! lol... Yeah resopalrabotnic .....you've done exposed me fer sure now.....I've got a silicon fetish and the docs can't help me. I am waiting for him to answer my last e-mail about memory. I can stuff up to 12gigs of memory in that puppy ...I just need to know which package he wants to work with and how many extra HDDs would he like for storage (they come in 200gigs ...no limit to the number especially when you consider when you add one 200gig you are really adding THREE 200gigs (the two 'real-time' servers get one-each too)! Okay...I'll shut up! heheh...

In a short period of time, the file sizes for these things will be fairly much unlimited. Just a matter of how long it takes CA3LE to lock into my Server (well, everyone's new server) so that we can get rid of the present file size limits .....which drive me crazy since everything I have is over 10megs it seems. I put up the rods according to a book with specs (duals) and at the top you'll find dissapators that try to repel static charges and even lightening to a degree. They look alot like metal (silver) blows on Christmas gifts. heheh... I will find my manual (I think) scan it then post it. It's easy enough to follow. If I did then then anyone can do it...... Also, when you are messing with potentially high voltage, do NOT grasp the wire with your hand. Tap it with the back of your hand so that IF it is carrying a charge it does not cause your muscles to CLAMP so that you cannot let go of the sucker. Using the backhand technique, you may get a tickle, but at least you won't be 'clamped' to the wire by your own muscles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O M G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you already have an account with the DW6000 (especially if you upgraded from a 4000), they will be happy to give you a DW4000 (no limits) account ...and most likely will give you discount for running "dual accounts." Listen!!!!!!!!!!!!! The very best little utility for backup of EVERYTHING on your HDD in case of failure, or just parts of it is a feature of XP Pro. I have made a file that you can load into XP Home that works without a hitch for making perfect images everytime ....and it is all I have ever used! It is just the ntbackup utility that comes with XP Pro ....and here is that file loaded with the MSI Installer so that anyone can load it into XP Home in a heartbeat. Once loaded, you will find it listed under you System Tools (looks like a Floppy Disk). The Reverend Nothing against Norton Ghost or ANY of those programmes .....but why bother when this one is FREE! (and it has never messed us up a single time)!

In reality, if you shut it off you in effect are slowing down your computer! It's a long explanation that is Registry related. The best thing to do is keep it turned on even if you never use it. Cheers! The Reverend
