Hello there fikester and welcome to Testmy.net! Those are awesome speeds for sure! I came pretty close to that yesterday morn, or was it this morning? hehe.... I take it from the stats you are using a DW6000, and if so you are pulling down near maximum and I would not touch a single thing! If your dish is at 127

AH! Good. Thank you because I was beginning to wonder about my systems, and I can't get a call into DWay not matter what I try. Only have Sat Phone here and the traffic is tremendous (voip of course). Thanks! I was worried it was an official statement but since you say it was at a forum maybe I'll pull that info until it is confirmed. Nothing personal!!! "The Rev"

I have battery backup to keep a constant 120v, 60 cycles to the entire house (caasa), and we all have left our machines on 24/7/365 year after year after year. Today's computer are made for it. Only question is, can you hack the extra on your power bill? It adds a bit to it, but nothing bone crushing. hhehe... The Reverend

I never hit the other forums unless somebody directs my attention to them. I'm running flat out in here for about 18hrs a day, sometimes I'll knock down 26hr days then crash for a few then hit it again! lol.... I use Rain-X on my dish to keep it "dry". No snow here in Costa Rica but it surely does help slip the water off, and keeps my SS high even in a downpour. Most think they can't punch through the rain. But, the problem starts in the dish and reflectivity! Simple! Rain-X Rules! imho "The Rev"

It is REALLY a longshot, but if you go into c:windowsprefetch and delete all of the .pf files, THEN reboot, the danged problem just might fix itself, but --you will experience slow boots for the next two or three times until the prefetch gets filled back up again with the usual info on what you use/launch the most.

That's a common error that has 1,000 causes.

Lance, where did you get your info. I find nothing in the systems to back any of this up other than rumor, and I've just located four users on that bird who are UP! ???????????????????????????????????????? The Reverend

According to "The Book", it is because IE6 and the DW6000 were "made for each other." As good as Mozilla' lightweight is, it just can't hack the computations that are involved when dealing with the latency issues peculiar to satellite comm only, and so for the majority of DWay users, it should stand true that IE5 or 6 will blow away ANY other browser (except for Opera "text only" ....but as I said in another post, who can stand to browse without all the cool pics eh? LOL!!! I am happy fer ya! Let's pray it stays that way! Next month, Dway will have a new surprise for us ....they never fail me! lol.... Cheers! The Reverend

WOW Brawny ...they've got your speeds hopping all over the place! LOL...But ..at least it shows that their work is slowly pulling it all back together. I am well-pleased that we don't have to get inside you software and start from scratch! lol.... Be Blessed! The Reverend

Well, the bird is talking to them but not transferring traffic to NOC in MD. NOC in India has a perfect heartbeat on her but is "skipping" in order to get it.....that's all the info I have on that, and it is not official, it is "rumor" at the moment. I don't know any G3C users so I'm stuck.... Lines are 'hogged'" and can't get through from CR tonite.

That's another good one that we trialed here not all that long ago ...just for a writeup in Espana for the locals. Nice little proggy with a few buggies.

That is precisely right. A time will come when it is maxed out and then the next transponder on board will be commissioned ...and so on, and so on, and so on. There will be other "birds" that Wild Blue will be setting up Ka accounts with instead of just depending on one SatCom, but it is not known who they are working out the essentials with. (BIG business there)! Billions on the table at every turn!

Oh! I graciously thank you and appreciate your kind words rlh24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are most welcome of course. That TCP Optimizer is quite the little devil when it comes to DWay-based applications. Hard to beat! Cheers! "The Rev" (feel free to just call me "Rev" if you wish. "The Reverend" is just my formal title ...that's all. (yes! I am really a Reverend)!

You heard correctly, but you may find yourself on HOLD for God only knows how long when you "decline assistance." "The Rev"

I've hashed it over and over and over.

 IE6 is CONSISTENTLY faster with DirecWay that what will ever be possible using FireFox, simply because DirecWay designed the DW6000 modem for use with IE6, and not with "light weight" browsers in mind. So yes, I do believe you are getting a "real life" (AND IMPRESSIVE) download speed there ....which is a reflection of what the system-wide changes will bring to alot of DWay users ....a bit more speed and there is talk of raising the FAP to accomodate the faster speeds if enough users can get it up over the 1.5Mbps threshold (actually, if you can hit or slightly exceed 80% of your advertsied speed then you are doing splendidly, and the rest is gravy. (That's the fastest speed I've seen with a DW6000, assuming you are using one ...and my stats say you are (but aren't accurate by any means)! That''s killer! (I hate you)! LOL just kidding of course. It looks as though the TCP Optimzer is working out to be the best for the majority, so I've placed another copy of it attached to this post. It is pretty much self-explanatory. Just open it up, set it for "Extreme", then work through each tab, save, reboot and pray! You WILL want to start by clicking on File , then "Save Current Settings" to make it easy to return your TCP/IP Stack to what it was before if it kills your connection or slows you down ...but give it about 15 minutes after installing it to allow time for NOC to catch up with your newer settings okay? Good luck to those that catch this (yet missed the last one). Cheers! The Reverend

Oh yeah, you should considering learning the Indian Dialect so that when you call Direcway Tech Support (and don't get the Help Center in Florida), but rather get NOC in India, you'll be speaking with some dude named Ryianokmilakia (but you can call him Bob). That's about as far as the conversation will get because he will not understand a single word you say and vice versa. When such a thing happens, hang up, hit redial, and pray you are routed to either Florida (sometimes Virginia), or the Main NOC in Germantown, MD.! LOL But, all things considered, we love them dearly and couldn't live without the daily excitement they bring into our lives at exhorbitant prices! Cheers! The Reverend
