  2. I wish I knew how to cache like that!
  3. Blah, I didn't see that. Still, there is no fiber in Tampa, if there was... I'd have it.
  4. 150%, you might of been cached before and are getting the real read outs. Noted in another topic when legitably fast connections are usually 100% - 120%. NOT that I'm saying that this is what's happening, chances are you do have an issue with your host. Please run command and type tracert testmy.net and post your results, mainly concerned with ping or the ms number.
  5. You know, there was a day when DSL and cable meant 256 kb/s... In charter's fine print for the high speed, it says it might vary for area. Give em' a call and see what it "really" should be in your area.

    hp

Thanks guys, I pretty much guessed it all. I didn't bother removing it, in an unrelated issue I reformatted my computer with a different Install Disc. It is the OEM version of Windows XP Home with SP2, and so far... I like not having to uninstall the extras.

    hp

Why in the world, did hp put a file called terminator.exe "The Ruthless Killer of Windows" into my install folder for my Presario 6300us? I know that it's in my reformat discs, so wtf? There's also one called killapps.exe, and all this scary stuff.
  8. Amazingly enough, just because you pay for it doesn't mean it's the best. My friend Slasher had similar reports on charter.com Now, unless you're really him with a different name... Are you? Just temporarily disable that firewall. Do you have a router? If so, directly connect your modem to your computer and post back any results... Also, go through the stickies in the Make it Faster section, please.
  9. Impossible! I live in Tampa, they don't have fiber down here! >_< Fiber is 50 a month, you have a low plan slowmofo, it seems you should call up Verizon and ask for one of their "free" upgrades to 1.5 megs or 3.0 megs, before upgrading to fiber if you want to.
  10. Welcome to the forums! Your package is as it should be! You must have the 1.5 package, however. That upload is a bit off of what it should be. And your ping would suggest to me line connection problems. (Under the ground.) Call up verizon, and ask them to check on your line, and see what they say.
  11. Disable all of those, and I'd suggest getting rid of Mcafee for what it's worth, especially disable that firewall.
  12. I think it's possble to combo cable and dsl at once, seeing as they're seperate lines... Not sure, last time I suggested combinding two broadbands into one I was shunned and laughed at. Regardless, they must be on seperate lines.
  13. Everyone thinks it's a trick, but it's not repair does work if you're connected right!
  14. You need to know what you're doing, man... Those speeds are +20 plus his normal isp, so what's the problem besides the ping?
  15. It's possible you might of signed up for a 1500 mbs plan, can you confirm that's a 4000 plan?
  16. I tried checking your isp but the website seems down? btcentralplus.com Google searches showed up negative for the actual website, and I would guess your british from the results that did come up. Is it possible that's not your isp's website?
  17. Should be res1i3js but s1 reserved his name! In this situation I would be most interested into seeing you actually copy and paste your Download Test and Upload Test information here, as well as I'd like for you to download "HijackThis" and post all that it says.
  18. I always wanted to do this. Welcome to the boards KroniKill! Check https://testmy.net/forum/t-2097 and post back your results.
  19. Remember to get the free upgrade from your internet provider, that'll speed it up real good.
  20. Keep in mind that this site actually has the most accurant read outs for speeds ob the web.
  21. blocktracker.exe is not in my hp/bin directory, so that's odd. Quiet Install is odd as well, as well as the many AOLs, antiviruses, and of course ZoneAlarm have major rolls.
  22. What's the advertised? Not the actual speeds, but the ones they advertise on the website... It looks like you have a 3 meg up, or you could be running on the 5 meg up and be having a terrible connection. I'm not so good on comcast as I am with verizon, but maybe you could show us a hijackthis log please?
  23. Make a new topic, this one is about Road Runner Lite. Guys, keep in mind that you are competing against the "Highest" speeds your provider can dish out with that percentile thing.
